... I find 5E to be clear and convenient. If they call it "D&D Next", what do you call the inevitable next edition? "D&D After Next"? "D&D Next Next"?

I agree that D&D Next is just a placeholder, and that it'll probably just be called D&D (IMO). Plenty of people (especially here) will probably refer to it as 5e though.
