Absolute Horror

Nifft

Penguin Herder
I just spent an hour killing a water-bug (big roach). The hour was from 3:AM to 4:AM. Yes, it woke me up. The primal horror of such a wake-up call is not something I can easily describe, and I'm normally pretty good with that wordy stuff. I'm still shaking.

The on-topic part of this post: I killed it using (among other tools) my Monster Manual 3.5e.

Why are those creatures so horrible? It's not like they bite or sting... but I fear them. A lot.

Discuss. Or merely sympathize.

I was attacked by a dog in my youth. I had a fear of them since then 'till about 3 years ago. Sharks, also, until I saw a documentary on the about two weeks ago on the Discovery channel.

I had no idea that channel worked as therapy.

 What part of the country do you live in? We used to have a lot of those big 2-inch "water bugs", but they mostly stayed outside, unless the weather was really freaky. I'll still take them over fire ants.

If it's any consolation, they're still nothing compared to stuff I saw in South America. Heck, they're still nothing compared to stuff I ate in South America.
