Accidental Survivors: the Modern Gaming Podcast

I love that you guys do Bloopers/Gag Reel at the end (even though it is all digital, can you still call it a reel?). Great show Guys!

Glad you enjoy the bloopers. I have to say, they're pretty much my favourite part of the podcast as well--well, favourite right after the actual recording part.

BTW, everyone reading this: click the link in Kroh's sig. Seriously, click it. Nice work Walt, and thanks for sharing.

Not to put the focus off of me (my favoriute subject of course) but you guys do have my favorite podcast. So it means a lot when some people who really are into gaming (and thus probably view a boatload of RPG art in the products they view) say that they like what I do.

Thanks for the love man...Back at ya!

Excellent podcast guys, one of the best yet.

Though I can't believe you talked about crime films, and Heat specifically, TWICE now, without quoting it. It's as quotable a movie as Aliens.

"You got to be ready to rock and roll at the drop of a hat."

"Give me all you got! Give me all you got!"

"Well ya know, for me, the action is the juice."

"You could get killed walking your doggie!"

Man... I love Heat!!!

This was my first episode of Accidental Survivor and I enjoyed the show.

Although I haven't played in a Modern game in over a year, it was cool to hear all the good ideas (and a little of the banter :)). And I enjoyed the preview on the LotR online game, although I'll never think of shieldmaidens in the same light.

Look forward to the next episode while I catch up on the past ones.

Definitely a great movie. We mentioned it in the last episode (Group Cohesion) because it's one of those movies with a great ensemble--the cops and the crooks both have tight-knit teams, the kind of groups one would want in an RPG. With the crooks, there's definite differentiation of skills, just like in an RPG.

On top of that, freakin' top notch acting and action. Great gun handling too. It is a very awesome movie. In fact, I think I'm going to watch it tonight!

I mentioned Thief over Heat--and they are very similar movies with very similar themes--because I had used Heat last episode, and Thief focuses much more tightly on the criminal lifestyle. Both, however, are awesome movies and could provide lots of inspiration for Modern campaigns.

Thanks for the kind words, Chuck.

Coolio! Glad you enjoyed it and hope you enjoy the rest.

Both a Thread Resurrection and a Chainmail Bikini

This thread resurrection brought to your courtesy of flagrant pimping.

The Accidental Survivors have a new episode up and we're calling it Chainmail Bikini. While we are certainly not above cheap marketing ploys, the title does have relevance, even if the Accidental Survivors do not. The newest podcast episode from the modern gaming podcast focuses on women and gaming, and even includes -gasp- a woman gamer. So come on by. Don't forget to bring your preconceived notions, stereotypes, and sense of outrage.
