"A character can always move through the space occupied by someone who lets a character by."

The kobold wants to charge the housecat. He doesn't realise that there is an invisible rogue between him and his target.

The rogue doesn't want to reveal his presence by blocking or attacking the kobold.

By allowing the kobold to move through his space, can he remain undetected? Or will the kobold realise there's "someone there" when he passes through the rogue's space?

Barring size considerations, I don't see why not.

Or will the kobold realise there's "someone there" when he passes through the rogue's space?
Not without the appropriate spot or listen check, which would be very difficult. Just passing through the space should not have much to do with it.

I'd have him make a DC 0-20 hide check, depending on size considerations (around 10 for a standard medium sized creature, 5 for small, and 20 for something with a larger face than 5').

If you can step out of the way during an Overrun I don't see a reason why you can't when they don't intend to Overrun you.

Maybe allow them a free Spot check but I wouldn't give an bonuses to it.
