Ack!!! Blech!!!

Just heard the Sheryl Crow version of "Blue Christmas" on the radio and it is possibly the worst song I've ever heard in my life...

(Is this too OT for here even? Sorry if it is...)

It made me wonder if anyone likes this song...and also what songs have you heard that make you "Ack...Blech"

You know what I mean...

Any version of "White Christmas". Back in elementary school, our school's chorus had to learn White Christmas for a tv commercial for a local mall. We sang it many, many times in a row (don't remember the exact number, but it was somewhere in the 10-20 times range).

Have been "Ack..Blech" about that song ever since.

Course, I'm not a big christmas music fan to begin with (only song i really like is "The Carol of the Bells). Not good combo with orchid, since she loves christmas music.

Also Chilis commercials where they have people singing their name. I can't reach the mute button fast enough.

Ugh, I quite agree. Those Chili's scumbags will pay for their sins in the hottest levels of hell.

I also hate any rap-ified versions of decent songs. "Let's take Aerosmith's Dream On and absolutely ruin it!" "Okay!" Then again, I hate rap/hip-hop/whatever anyways. Same with country.

I actually like many Christmas songs. They're a lot better than my own faith's "Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel" anyways... Though, I like the Kol Nidre (which isn't a Channukah song, but hey).

Hey, what's wrong with "Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel"?

Sure, I mean, it gets old after the 20,000th time... well, 10,000th... ok, 1,000... 100th... 10th...

Ok, it's not really very entertaining past the first time. :)

The one song that will send me screaming to make the pain stop is "Believe" by Cher. There's just something about it that rubs my nerves raw.

There are several styles of music that I could live without, but that's what the off button's for.

There are very, very few Christmas songs I actually like. "Little Drummer Boy" is my favorite, though.

Somewhere along the line, I developed a loathing for "Jingle Bell Rock". Used to like it, but don't anymore.

Also, whatever it is the Bruce Springsteen sings, I can't stand it -- his voice is all wrong. I think the song is "Santa Clause is Coming to Town", but it's been too many years since I let the song get far enough along to be sure.

It's ironic that "Jingle Bell Rock" is about the most un-rocking song ever.

Maybe someone can help me with a bad Christmas song I keep hearing in my office. It's some kind of 80s pop song with a dance beat, and it's this chick singing about how she gave some dude her heart last Christmas and then he gave it away. It's vomitrocious. I swear, except for the fact that she mentions Christmas a couple of times in passing in the chorus, it's got absolutely nothing to do with Christmas. No Baby Jesus, no Santa, no myrrh, just HURTING.

EDIT: Checked Google. Saw that it's originally a Wham song, and I'm just hearing an even more heinous cover. Suddenly I understood, and knew what I had to do.

Much better.
