Actual interest in conversion of old adventures

Here's a question for everyone. Would there be an interest in purchasing "officially licensed" 3.5 conversions for the OD&D adventures, especially if they made full use of the new material from Wotc?

Sure, I'd be interested. I am far from clamoring for such a project though. I'd weigh it's "bang for the buck" factor against all other d20 products and make a choice.

As for conversions in general, I'm quite happy to read through the old ones, steal ideas and flavor, then just plug in the numbers myself. But as i stated above, I would certainly give any "commercial" conversion a pretty hard look.

Not only would I race to buy/support this effort, I'd be glad to pitch in and help out (as in free service) however I could. I don't know why seeing some of these old classics reborn is important to me, but it is. I suppose I have grown attached to some of them.

Sure. I'd love to see some of my favorites converted to 3.5. Wasn't there a thread that Erik Mona started a few months ago hinting at this in relation to Dungeon magazine?

Edit: Found thread here: http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=62839

Actually, I am inferring that there would be a special license and the blessings from Wotc. It would not be anything that could be used by 3rd party publishers in terms of open gaming content.

Ghostwind, do you have an idea brewing related to this? It sure sounds like it :)

Let's just say that the option is being actively explored and is all dependent upon what the powers to be at Wotc have to say about it all. :)

I don't remember the prodect code, but it contains some of my fondest childhood (RPG) memories.

Yeah, this would be pretty sweet. It will probably be a lot easier to convert after d20 Future is released - assuming of course that WotC adds d20F into the d20 Modern SRD like they just did with Urban Arcana.

I tend to use the storylines from modules rather than follow it word for word, die roll for die roll. It allows me to be much more flexible when the party does something unexpected or to help them out when they get to a roadblock that they just can't get through. Anyway, my answer is that there is no need to convert if you are just using the story anyway.

Heck yeah!!! Even though I just use the storylines from the modules it would help minimize the work involved if all the monsters stats were listed in the module rather than having to print up a quick reference sheet for every game.

An updated version of the old modules with 3E revision. Sure but.
No need of color except on the cover. Drop the border that eats up space. Cut back on the complete stat block. And only use one if totally necessary.
Ex Rats hp 5 Ac 8 Bab +1 or orcs ac 15 hits 12,14, long sword and great axe.
The suggested levels need to be adjusted. Also some hints included ex if combat in room 5 begins, orcs from rooms 6,.7.10 will arrive in 1d10 rounds.

They'd have to be complete conversions--none of this "Room 30. [monster], MM.,p.x" business.

I'd also have to see a set of principles and standards, e.g.: "a staff of striking will, in this series of conversions, always be converted to X".

I mean that these are the annoying aspects of current conversionology that I'm willing to accept for none of my money.

But if someone were to connvert the entirety of, say, that four-volume collection of wizard spells--wow!
