The ship was utterly destroyed by AO in one issue. They never rebuilt it.

Heh, from what I can tell, you can get just about any of them dirt-cheap nowadays. I think they're probably the same price now as they were in the late 80's, if you count for inflation.

I bought a good amount of the spelljammer comics at NYCC last year from a 50 cent bin.
Though I bet you are correct with the official price guide prices considered.
