Thanks. We do an uncannily similar markup for monsters! Good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't care for the playability of the monster stat block as is (though the MM3 / MV version is greatly improved over the MM version).

You really might be on to something with dividing a monster's stat block into two parts... Though it is a slightly artificial categorization, I find myself referencing passive information (auras, triggeres actions, perception, defenses, HP) during the players turn, and active information (powers, attacks, movement, initiative, skills) during the monster's turn.
Putting that concept together with callouts like Dr_Ruminahui does and a slick graphic layout and I think we'd have an exceptionally playable monster stat sheet.
