Incarnation takes a potion (assuming one is left) as per Dane's advice, then turns to Hadrak. Water is no inconvenience. If you wish, you can be carried.

[sblock=ooc]There's only one potion. . . George, and Incarnation have both expressed interest. So did Dane, but only if no one else wanted it.

I suppose that means you guys want less gold and high level items and more potions. . .

Oh, and I assure you stonegod has plenty of shiny things at the moment.[/sblock]

You continue to move through the forest, and as you do you see more and more influence of the fey encroaching on the land. Incarnation keeps consulting the map and a couple hours later a voice calls out to them.

"Hail." The party looks toward the sound to find a female dwarf standing atop a nearby boulder. Her hair is long and brown and she wears simple leather clothing. A scroll and rod is tucked into her belt. While her cleanliness is not impeccable, you would guess she lives in the woods, she is moderately attractive for a dwarf. A black star tattoo rests below right eye.

"What do you seek?" A wry smile crosses her lips as if she knew, and from behind the boulder steps two Goliaths. One, a male, wears scale mail and leans a large maul over one shoulder. The other, a female, wears simple dark clothing of cloth, with a strange silver symbol across her neck.

[sblock=Shinies]But I like them! Paid good gold for a few of them. :)[/sblock]The warlock regards the newcomers closely, determining their nature and intent before speaking.[sblock=OOC]Some rolls to establish what he does next:
- Insight on their intent: 16
- Try to recognize the tattoo symbol on the speaker: Arcana 11 (Passive 19), History 19, Religion 2 (Passive 11), Nature 22
- Try to recognize the silver symbol on the goliath: Arcana 18 (Passive 19), History 12 (Passive 19), Religion 20, Nature 17
- Make sure no one else is waiting: Perception 16[/sblock]

[sblock=Insight 16]The two golaiths seem concerned for the dwarf's safety. The dwarf seems like she has been waiting for something. There's an arrogance there.[/sblock]

No passive knowledge checks please. Common knowledge will be set low. New discoveries will allow you to reroll.

Try to recognize the tattoo symbol on the speaker:
[sblock=Arcana/Nature 10]Thats a star.[/sblock]
[sblock=History 16]It could be tied to astronomy or some kind of worship of heavenly bodies. Many cultures have placed importance on th sky.[/sblock]

Try to recognize the silver symbol on the goliath:
[sblock=Relgion 17]You recognize the symbol as one of the Jade Empire. It represents the worship or a greater power power of balance. Less a deity but the give and take of the universe. [/sblock]

[sblock=Perception 16]You do not notice anyone else.[/sblock]

Incarnation makes his way to the front, standing astride Dane. He gazes impassively at the newcomers. You know the answer to your question, guardian, for it is written on your face and the way you stand. Agents of the middle way, a Jadite philosophy far from its home. A small movement indicates the goliath's silver symbol. But to tell you what you already know, we seek he who as been drawn to this place. A warrior of those self-same distant lands, a seeker himself. He is the Warden and I am the one sought.

"Oh you're path is just starting." The dwarf says before jumping off the other side of the rock. "Come along then. I just wanted to here you say it."

The goliaths follow silently and they lead you down a twisting path. While less than five minutes pass, you feel it may have taken you a long time to find your way on your own.

A small clearing ahead opens up into a surprisingly large one. You find yourself in a circle of very tightly woven trees. There's an aura about the place that you can't quite place your finger on. There's only one other clear break in the wall of trees off to one side, where a separate, smaller circle holds a natural spring.

Eight individuals fill the area. Closest to the entrance sits a goblin, wearing animal hides. He props one arms on top of a waraxe and looks at you with an untrusting eye. Next to him sits a young half-elf girl, also wearing hides but they have been fashioned a bit more to look like normal clothes. She seems about teenaged in years.

In another area, stands a grouping of three men speaking with one another. Two humans, one wearing leather with two swords on his belt, the other wearing quality, but well worn clothing with a dagger in his belt. The third appears to be a longtooth shifter wearing a simple mix of hide and cloth, typical to the shifters of Daunton. They slow their conversation and take notice as you enter.

Three more men appear to be examining a tree toward the center back. One an eladrin dressed in relative finery, though well worn. He turns his head toward you which causes a young dragonborn to turn as well. He has a leathery dark brown skin, and is also wearing scale mail. A bastard sword is longsword is sheathed at his side and a heavy shield rests nearby. The final figure is clearly a dragonborn as well, though he does not turn around. His skin is a pale green and even from behind you can tell he is aging. A katanna of fine quality rests on his hip, and he wears cloth robes.

A voice that you can only assume to be him calls out. "Come in and be welcome."

[sblock=Hadrak, Raiyek, and Rurdev] When you near the entrance to the grove you notice a Tiefling trying to be hidden in a near by tree. He watches you as you near, holding a handcrossbow in his primary but not taking aim. A bastard sword rests on his back.[/sblock]

Incarnation steps forward, his eyes taking in the others around him. Agents of the primal, it seemed. But why did they seek him? Why was his fate tied to them?

Incarnation stands straight, towering over many (though likely not the dragonborn). Fires continue to pulse along his plating.

The Lady of the Winds says darkness is coming. Her words claim the Warden fights this tide, and that I am at the center of the storm. I would seek to know why.

"Do you not already know why?" Calls the voice. The Warden bends down, looking at something further. Everyone else has stopped what they're doing to listen intently to the exchange. "Where are you? What do you see?"

OOC: Oh yeah, a couple things I forgot to say in previous posts. The dwarf speaks with a Magari accent. If you think you would recognize that, go ahead and do so.

[sblock=Riayek and Dwarves, or History 21]The Eladrin's cloths are of an Imperium Noble. Something one might wear while hunting.[/sblock]

I see Jadites. And their allies. And I am in their camp, at the end of Daunton. But that is not what you mean. You mean the depredations of the fey realms. They encroach again. He looks down at his hands a moment, turning them front and back. The Black's Seals. They are failing. Is this of what you speak?
