[Adventure] A Call for Lovers (DM: jbear Judge:Lord Sessadore)

[sblock=ooc]Son of Meepo, would J17 be a good spot for pushing the Mad Spirit? Also perhaps H16 or maybe I16 as a square for Wat?[/sblock]

[sblock=locations]I guess so. Honestly I can't really follow the action without an updated map. I have no idea where the jelly is.

What I was really trying for was to have one square of empty space between me and the enemies because if there is only 1 square and they were to become dazed instead of stunned, then they could not charge Wat because you have to move at least 2 squares to charge.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC] Sorry that I forgot to add the updated map last night. It was very late. I had it prepared but completely forgot the upload.

Re: Aura: Thanks for that. I thought that might be the case but I thought the line in the Skald Aura power that says that it lasts til the end of the encounter might override any general rule. But it makes sense.

Anyway, alls well. Nice heal check! [/sblock]

Rain prays to Apoli that the spirit isn't a friend of Joven as much Wat is, just as the ghostly form suddenly ignites from the effects of her Tiefling's wrath.

Her own blood boiling from seeing Sabynha dropped, she nevertheless suddenly feints away from the spectral foe as it reels back from Wat's returning onslaught.

Quickly negotiating the piled rocks that lie in her way, she then suddenly doubles back to menace the ghostly form. However, for the moment she reaches out with her magic to lure the monstrous slime that suddenly appears in the cavern towards her and away from Wat.

Her blade comes up in a defensive stance as she prepares for the onslaught of her foes.

[sblock=actions]
OOC: Pushed the Mad Spirit to I15, Wat moved to G15.

With that, a more subdued turn.

Standard Action = Second Wind. Rain needs to stay on her feet.

Standard action = Rain uses her Second Wind and recovers 7 HP for a Healing Surge. She has +2 to all Defences until the start of her next turn.

Free action: Infernal Wrath on the Mad Spirit:

Infernal Wrath (Encounter Free Close burst 10 Fire)
Target: The triggering enemy in the burst
Trigger: An enemy within 10 squares of you hits you.
Effect: The target takes 1d6+4 fire damage.
Damage = 8.

Move action = Rain moves diagonally from E16 through to G14 (difficult terrain) then onwards to H13, before switching back to I14, adjacent to the Mad Spirit.

Minor Action = Targets the Ochre Jelly with the Aegis of Shielding, which I think is two squares away.

Aegis of Shielding (Minor Standard (Once per Encounter can be used as a Minor action.) Close burst 2 Arcane)
Target: One creature in burst
Effect: You mark the target. The target remains marked until you use this power against another target. If you mark other creatures using other powers, the target is still marked. A creature can be subject to only one mark at a time. A new mark supersedes a mark that was already in place. If your marked target makes an attack that does not include you as a target, it takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls. If that attack hits and the marked target is within 10 squares of you, you can use an Immediate Interrupt to reduce the damage dealt by that attack to any one creature by 8 points of damage.

Possible additional interrupt action - if Wat is attacked by the Mad Spirit and conditions are right, then Rain will use:

Guardian’s Counter (Encounter Immediate Interrupt Close burst 2 Martial)
Trigger: An ally within 2 squares of you is attacked and you are not included in the attack.
Effect: You and the ally shift 2 squares as a free action, swapping positions. You become the target of the triggering attack in place of the ally. After the attack is resolved, you can make a basic attack against the attacker.

[sblock=Extended Rest] At the elven village you all took an extended rest (I'm looking at [MENTION=100292]Neil1889[/MENTION] Rain's mini stat block).

So you all begin this encounter at full surges and with an Action point.

[/sblock]

GM: As the spirit is struck by the light of Wat's divine armour of wrath and is pushed back it screeches in pain and seems to solidify into a more crystalline creature.

Sabynha's eyes flutter open just in time to see Wat's smile as he dashes off to deal with the group's assailants. Bruised and bleeding, the vistani is tougher than she looks, and picks herself up off the ground, hauling herself up with one of the stalactites that skewered her. Weakly, she states to herself as much as her companions, "I am... alright."

"Friends, I am fine; fight on!" Sabynha hollered this time, her voice booming with the power of the echo chamber. With that, she stood herself up properly, and swished her blade through the air a few times, preparing to resume fighting.
[sblock=actions]Move Action: Stand
Minor Action: Re-activate Skald's Aura
[strike]Standard Action: Charge to F16 and attack the Mad Spirit 1d20+7+1=11, 1d6+4=5 MISS![/strike]
Standard Action - > Minor Action - Skald's Aura heal; 1d6+7=8 +8hp[/sblock]
OOC: Wow, that was terrible. Sorry guys. @Neil1889 , any chance of amending your trigger on that encounter power to include Sabynha instead, since Wat is out of range, and now I'm not (and also still very bloodied)? I couldn't heal myself since I also have to get closer to Wat so someone can pop my aura on him.
If Zuri charges the spirit she can flank with Sabynha and thus gain CA against it (and take my + 2 if she needs it). I was going to suggest charging the jelly around the back of the purple stuff, ending adjacent to Wat, but it's one square too far.
