The room erupts into light, a few stalagmites stand ahead, huge stones that block some of the light. No enemies are visible.

Sunrod is 20 squares right? Nothing within 20 squares of Ronen. Sorry for the delay, I was at an audit by the Canadian version of the IRS (CRA) with a client yesterday, I don't think they'd like me updating a game instead of dealing with the auditor ;) [/sblock]

The deva makes some quick gestures and summons a ghostly hand. He is also ready to use his magic on suddenly appearing foes.

Minor Action Ranged 5

Effect: You conjure a spectral, floating hand in an unoccupied square within range. The hand lasts until the end of your next turn or until you use this power again. If you are holding an object when you use this power, the hand can move the object into a pack, a pouch, a sheath, or a similar container and simultaneously move any one object carried or worn anywhere on your body into your hand. While the hand persists, you can take the following actions.

Minor Action: The hand picks up or manipulates an object weighing 20 pounds or less. It can hold only one object at a time.

Move Action: The hand moves up to 5 squares in any direction, carrying the object it holds.

It says you can move an item from your hand to your pack and vice versa. It still requires a minor to grab something.

Note that you still have your standard action this round. then everyone else (except Fissure) is up. [/sblock]

Edited above post.

Strange that the power allows the hand to take an item from a backpack an to give it you while taking your other item and put it in the backpack for free, but simply taking nothing from the pack and keep holding the item it just took from your hand is a minor action.

I thought the minor action for grabbing things that the wizard doesn't hold in his hand.

But you are the DM, let's go on with the encounter :)
