(Adventure) A Merry Chase *Judge: Uriel

Rinaldo let his horse walk slowly on the horse and Rinaldo try to look as innocent as he can. He stays alert to see if there would be brigand of some sort on the road and looks if he is not followed. After a while (maybe 15 minutes), he will make a camp fire on the side of the road to get some sleep. He will be not too far from the raod.

As Zoe and Seph are moving, Fraidy takes off and flies back the way they came. Seph sees him circle and make three small jags downward at an area maybe a hundred yards behind them. The companions continue to hear occasional noises from their followers, who clearly don't realize how close they are. The cover in the area is sufficient to hide both the horses and the three women, at least as far as you're all concerned.

OOC: seph has a crossbow readied, what is zoe doing?


Meanwhile, as rinaldo heads up the hill towards his companions, he notices a white shape circling an area just beyond where he left them, and making dipping motions as if to draw attention. Persephone's owl did somehting similar when she asked it to scout the approaching carriage...

Persephone hates to see Fridly so exposed, yet she knows owls do hunt at dusk, so hopefully he won't be too obvious. "Zoe, I don't think we can escape them if they can track. Plus, if we leave, how are we going to hook up with Rinaldo. I say we wait til we've got a good ambush position and then attack them. I have one sleep spell left. What do you say?"

OOC: As I recall, Seph cast one sleep and one mage armor in the initial caravan ambush, then one more sleep when they were ambushed. This leaves her one more spell for this day.

The jingling gets closer, and then one man on foot and two on horseback come over the rise. The man on foot seems to be focused largely on the ground in front of him, and the two on horseback seem bored. When he sees the area you had been camped, the man on foot straightens up to talk to his companions, and his eyes light upon Zoe's area of the bushes.

Suprize round, seph, then man on foot, then zoe.
 

Persephone

"ZZZZZZZZZZZ" Persephone intones, waving her hands at the trackers. casts sleep - surprise, surprize, eschew materials means no sand for her!

Drawing her sword, Zoe nods to Persephone when she suggests the ambush.

OOC: Actions depend on the effect of the sleep spell and the bandits' actions.
 


Before the tracker can say anything, his companions simultaneously droop over their horses' necks and begin restful naps... thinking quickly, the young man hurls himself up against the one to his right shouting "Sorcery, Miguel! Snap out of it man!!!" The horseman shakes his head, becoming aware again, as Zoe acts...

(zoe, then regular initiative... will go seph, tracker, rinaldo (still about a hundred feet away), zoe, horseman...)
 


"Forget about it, you are outnumbered! Surrender yourself and you will be left unharmed!" Zoe yells as she moves into melee range with the remaining tracker.

If he goes for anything fancy, Zoe will attack him during her next move.
