Adventure: A Tale of Two Domains (DM:Luinnar, Judge:renau1g)

Brenn pointed at something in the swirling fog of the chasm. "I saw something move there, just for a second. Maybe he is trying to throw a grapple or something..." With that said, he began rummaging through his pack and removing climbing gear. "Anyone have more rope? No telling how deep that pit is..."

>If Brenn can get another rope from someone, he will tie it to his second line, providing a 100' length (which he will secure with spikes and stuff from his climber's kit). Once that is done, he is willing to attempt a descent/rescue attempt- or at least to salvage a body.

Quagmire pulls another length of rope out of his pack and hands it to Brenn.

OOC: I imagine most of us have rope from our level 1 adventurer's kits.

Brenn takes the two ropes and ties them securely together. He next secures it to one part of the bridge using spikes from his climber's kit. He then begins the long decent...

GM: I won't make you roll a climb check :)

Also, please use sblocks since you are away from the party.

You climb carefully down for what seems like hours. You can see nothing more then six inches around you besides the swirling blue mists. The mists smell terrible and burns your skin and eyes, but it does not seem harmful.

Finally you reach the ground with a loud crunch. Looking down you see that you landed on a skeleton lying on the cavern floor. Many more bones are scattered all over the ground. The mists are as thick here as they are up top and you cannot see Andras with your obscured vision.

You can hear a crunching sound, like someone stepping on the bones on the ground a dozen or so yards away to your left. Thanks to the thick mist you are unable to see the source of the noise.

>With no obvious sign of where Andras might have fallen, Brenn set to work searching the area nearby, working with deliberate care. First he shifted the rope around, tying it to the back of his belt so that it wouldn't get in the way. Then he drew a sunrod from his pack and lit it- with reasonable illumination, he began to walk in a slow outward spiral from his initial landing spot, searching for any kind of clues...

Sir Exsixten stares at the swirling mist and seems either mesmerized or terrified - though the last is clearly not an option since this is Sir Exsixten we're talking about.

He does grab onto the rope however.

CITIZENS, IF THE HORRIBLE ACID IS DISSOLVING YOUR BONES AND YOU ARE DYING HORRIBLY, TUG ON THE ROPE SO I CAN PULL IT IN. NO NEED TO WASTE GOOD ROPE.

Jax doesn't hear any screams or flesh-melting sounds so far, he assumes thing are going well in the chasm. He tiptoes around the clifftop a bit to make sure there's nothing deadly hiding in the shadows.
