[sblock=ooc]Well, this really sucks. Bad enough to be surprised, they also beat us at initiative to get two shots in on us before we can do anything! Ouch.

Do we have our weapons out, or do we have to spend actions to draw them?[/sblock]

Roswyn is rocked by the enemy blows, bleeding badly, as she instinctively fades away into invisibility and tries to clear her head, but her body is burning with poison. It takes her a moment to focus. //take 5 ongoing, hp now 13/39//

She eyes the attacking gnomes. Who are they? The Trust? If so, why are they after us?

She touches the clasp of her cloak, activating its protective enchantment, and it folds around her and stiffens, becoming briefly hard as steel. She lets her orb fall into her hand. Got to pull those two off Tamarand, he looks bad... and maybe pull the crossbowman closer... too bad about these damned guardrails!

The orb bleeds into visibility, momentarily seeming to float unsuspended in midair as it flashes with a kaleidoscope of colors. Then the colors leap out to the bridge behind the pick-wielding gnome and the false beggar, expanding into a large, swirling cloud of colors.

After the flash of color, Roswyn stands revealed, her invisibility gone. She squeezes the wound where the crossbow bolt struck, and envenomed blood spatters onto the bridge at her feet.

Minor action: activate Cloak of Protection; Roswyn gains resist 5 all until start of her next turn.

Standard: Hypnotic Pattern at O22.
This will attack W, M, and K at the start of their turns. +11 vs Will to slow them and pull them 3 squares. (I'm starting to realize that this power is a bit of a pain for PbP because of the timing... should I roll the attacks now or do you want to do it, Evo? I am hoping, at least, that the guardsman's mark will have expired so the -2 won't apply.)

Save vs. poison: Save vs. poison (1d20=12) Well, that's nice, at least!

Interrupt: will use Shield if possible to block an attack from the guardsman, or the inviso-gnome if he attacks from invisibility, but I'll rely on the resistance from the cloak against the crossbowmen this turn.[/sblock]

Round 1 Action:

Rohna notes where everyone is, and sneers at the leader of the guards. "You made three big mistakes that I can see right off the bat." She expertly slides around him inside the reach of his hafted weapon, into flanking position with the wounded sorceress. Her blackened warhammer bursting into a scintillating outline of itself, leaves a gracefully arcing con trail of light in her wake as she swings it back into position to strike a devastating blow to the back of the greedy, corrupt guardsman. "First, you actually decided to try and betray me, a local bruiser that is known across all of sharn for especially hating corrupt cityguard soldiers!" The goliath's deep gravelly voice rings out clearly over all the various sounds of combat. Her eyes flash with white-hot rage as she crushes the outline of the hammer seemingly deep into the back of the leader of this little ambush. The hit is so square that flame actually jets out the arm holes of his breastplate before the outline of the flaming hammer re-emerges from out of his side.
The now familiar rush of life flowing out of her opponent and into her causes the red stones along her cheekbones and browline to flare brighter from within as she draws his strength into herself.

Tamarand is not happy, not happy at all. He looks over his shoulder at Sheeva "Well, here you Lyrander, got myself all cut up for ya" he jokes, as he reaches into his inborn gifts and creates a sphere of darkness around himself, the enemies in front of him, and Doggie.

"Ah, that's more like it. Let's play" the drow hisses as he pulls forth his enchanted dagger and channels his anger through the blade. It slams into both enemies brains with a force that sends them flying through the air twenty feet away from him.

Shava ducks under the hail of arrows, but luckily seems sees to avoid the barrage. She looks up at the bridge and know that if nothing's done about them, it's the archers who'll end up killing them all. I can make that in one jump, but just barely. She looked to her friend Roswyn, but knew that the bridge would provide excellent cover for her but didn't think she could do. That leaves the drow. . .

"I'll cover those archers. WIND!" Shava's eye's flashed with lightning and a huge gust swept across the bridge picking up the half-elf and gently prodding at Tammarand as well. Shava lifted up and over the gap falling onto the bridge, dagger drawn.

Regarding the mark, if it expires at the end of L's next turn, it may have expired before the attacks actually happen at the start of the others' turns. It depends what order they act in. (I think L did go first last time, didn't he?) So I won't include the -2 in the rolls, but add it in if appropriate.

Brenron may have dazed two of them also, but I don't know for sure if his attacks hit, so I won't include the combat advantage bonus in my rolls. If they are dazed, the attacks should get another +2.

Finally after Tamarand pushed the two melee guys back, I believe they are still in range, but the whole idea was to get them away from us, so I wouldn't want to pull them back closer to us. Hitting will still slow them so that's okay. I would pull the one with the crossbow as close as possible.

Ok, here go the rolls... vs Will. I'll put them in a spoiler block since other PCs should not know the outcome in advance.

Tondrek blinks and then exclaims in pain and surprise as violence springs around him, including the sudden pain in his side. He cries out again from other attacks, including the bolt sticking between Doggie's finely tuned parts. However, even without acting, his efforts were at work. The magical checks he had done on Little Big Girl's weapon and Scary Dark Man's armor payed off as arcane power rejuvenated them.

As Talky Gnome and Scary Dark Man vanished in different ways, Tondrek focuses on retaliation. Tondrek and Doggie step back a moment, and then the half-orc quickly taps his staff against the ground. The magic flares, gathering trash and refuse until it coalesces into a burning pile of walking junk behind Tamarand's attackers near the swirling colors. Tondrek's new friend roars in elemental fury, challenging the assailants! The adrenaline from his summoning clears the poison out of Tondrek's system.[sblock=r1, Vertexx]Both of your characters gain 7 THP from Tondrek's Arcane Rejuvenation[/sblock][sblock=Actions]I've indicated Doggies hit points at the end of his block. In addition, Tondrek has 9/10 HS (he always spends one when activating Doggie). The stats for his newer friend (see below) is also in the block.

I'm assuming actions did not happen in post order, so Roswyn is invisible and Tamarand is out of range but W & M can still be seen by Tondrek. away This still works if Tamarand is there, but it'll have to be in a square Tondrek can see, I think. Anyway: Tondrek shifts to N17 and Doggie shifts to O17 (minor and move action). Tondrek then uses Flameheart Defender which appears at P20. Saves vs slowed.

Tondrek will use any OAs granted by the foes moving towards the pattern; the defender will attack them as in the power description: +13 vs AC; 2d6+5 fire damage.[/url][/sblock][sblock=Tondrek]Tondrek—Male Half-orc Artificer 6
