[sblock=ooc]It seems like we're having trouble reaching a consensus. There are good reasons for each course of action. Anyone know the Hand of Fate ritual? :)

Well, I guess I'll shift Roswyn over to the "go to the captain now" side just to try to break the deadlock.

"As long as you're willing to guarantee our coin little one, or at least your house will, then that's fine by me" the drow replies

"I for one, am not terribly comfortable walking away from this yet. We've already waited hours. For all we know there are individuals down there who have been made aware of our presence and are in the process of packing things up and heading out."

"That arangement didn't have anything to do with the new recruits Ros, but we better have our part of the deal done when we go to meet that watch commander." Then she raises her voice back to normal level. "We have no idea how long we might be underground, so I'm thinkin it could be better to finish old business before we crack open a brand new can-o-worms."

Roswyn crosses her arms and blows out a long breath. "All right, all right. Those are some good points, Rohna - besides, I'm not sure it'd be wise for me to guarantee someone else's obligation to our good drow here. So let's take care of our watch business first.

Shava, I hear you, but on the other hand, we've already given anyone below plenty of time to escape, if they were so inclined. It hardly seems like another half hour would make much difference. Of course, you and Brenron could always stay behind here if you like. The captain has no business with you."

[sblock=Evo]Also, I'm still confused about whether Roswyn has fulfilled her paperwork obligation, or was supposed to have done so by now, and/or had the opportunity to do so...[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Paperworks been taken care of. Don't forget the business opportunity that was mentioned, that would give Shava and Brenron reason to go.[/sblock]

"Very well. One thing at a time I suppose." Shava smiled graciously. "Though I'd like to get some heavy things over that trap door, so we have a better idea when we come back wether anyone's been in or out."

She begins moving some of the tables and wreckage around.

Rohna smiles at the half elves worries about the trap door. "That I have no problem at all with Shava." Her armor melts away into its now familiar mist, leaving her in her crimson leather garb once more. The goliath starts piling the heaviest of the furniture from the bar onto the trapdoor.

Tondrek sees everyone playing with the door and sees a new game. The wheels in his mind start to turn, and he suggests different ways to wedge that table here, and to use that pot of jam there, and to rub that sticky stuff there to keep it secure. Its fun!

OOC: Use some Theivery to jam it. 28

Shava steps back from the door, patting her hands together to free them of dust. With Tondrek's help they defiantly will notice if anything moves through that door.

"Alright then. Let's go do something for someone and make some gold."

"Now you're talking my language" the drow says with a laugh, patting Tondrek on the shoulder as he examines his work "Nice work" he comments, seemingly in a very good mood today.

Roswyn observes all the activity with a wry smile. "You know, if this opportunity with the watch doesn't pan out, I think my House is looking to hire some help to rearrange furniture in the Headquarters..."

// Ready to go then I guess?

On the way to "Four Dice and and Ear", Roswyn pulls out a few sheets of parchment. She writes out a block of text on each of them with furious, dragonmarked speed. "Hang on a moment," she says as they near a Sivis courier station. She ducks inside and quickly re-emerges. "Okay, all set!"

[sblock=DM]Roswyn is trying to take out a little insurance policy... I don't know if the messenger is accompanying us, but if so, all the better.

On one paper she writes a short, breezy letter to Pok, describing her recent escapades in general terms, telling him about the unexpected meeting with Shava, her new-found orb, etc. She posts this at the courier station, keeping the receipt.

On the other paper, she also writes a letter to Pok, but this one describes in detail the events involving the watch, the arrangement she has made with the watch captain, plus any "discrepancies" she noticed while preparing their paperwork earlier. (She will invent one or two "discrepancies" if necessary.) The letter ends by saying she is going off to meet with the captain, and that should anything unpleasant happen to her, "you should know what to do with this information." She's keeping this letter in her pocket. :)[/sblock]

The group sets out soon enough, the guard accompanying them. "I've got some things to take to do too," he explains, rattling his belt pouch, sending a wink towards Shava.

The streets are relatively busy in the morning light, as the few people in this section of the city that have real jobs, go to them. The group passes a pair of beggars on the corner near a bridge. Passing over a flagstone bridge, the watchmen raises his hand in greeting at another guard on the other side of bridge. Seeing his compatriot, the other fellow approaches. Rohna, Tamarand, Roswyn, and Tondrek all recognize him as the leader of the guards they met earlier. Apparently he wasn't quite gambling yet.

The guards grasp hands in greeting, then your escort's knees buckle, and he gasps. His superior pulls away a bloody knife and tosses the man from the bridge in one motion. Stunned the group can only look on. The sound of clicking crossbows can be heard above them and the screams of other passers by echo off the towers.

[sblock=ooc]Enemies get a surprise round. I'll attach the map. Please place yourself in the green area. L is the only currently seen enemy. You can roll init for yourself. If you don't then I'll roll for you tomorrow. When I post tomorrow, I'll post the results of the surprise round.

As far as the map goes: You are currently on a bridge betweent two towers(specically in the green area). The black area is open air. The two areas directly outside the black are two more bridges, twenty feet higher than your current elevation. They can be reached by two methods. One is the stairs as marked. They are difficult terrain to ascend. The other way is to go around, as a the ground slopes gradually to the upper level. For example if you are at O6 then you can spend 8 squares of movement to go to J6. Or you can go around, N5, N4, N3, N2, M2, L2, K2, K3, J2 for 8 squares of movement.

Creatures can not be pushed, pulled or slid off the bridges, as there is a considerable guardrail. Creatures on the upper bridges rows H,I,V,W do not have LOS to creatures on the lower bridge, and vice versa.[/sblock]
