[sblock=OOC]ScorpiusRisk, feel free to make any roll for me you want. :)

As far as surges, I'm good with spending them this fight. The nice thing about having an artificer around is being able to even out the surges. We don't have to stop because one person runs out of them because I can use someone else's that has plenty. I was just letting everyone know that if they have extra, I'm going to be looking for donations later. ;)

Filo let out a long even breath. For a moment he considered a sarcastic comment but then thought better of it. No sense in making the Crazy Lady mad now Filo.He clucked his tongue and gave his small shoulders a shrug and walked back over to a large chunk of ancient masonry that made a servicable stool for the Medic. He plopped down, retrieved a cloth from inside his shirt and started to polish his lute.

[sblock="OOC"]You can make any rolls you want for me too

I don't think I'm down enough to need a healing surge... better save them for later, in case the party turns on me....

Crossing his arms, the elementalist gave a long stare at the surrendered Jackals. Stasi is very attractive, how rude of you to insult her. Edward, you're the contractor, what would you have us do with these miscreants? inquires the exasperated Elec-Squall.

Edward seems quite besides himself through the whole thing.

"I suppose we should turn them into the authorities but I simply don't want to spend the time right now, not after that. Tie them up, if you will and we can stick them in a ruin or a hole till we're ready."

He ends with a shrug not really sure if that was the proper response.

"I don't think they want rehabilitated..." Shanairra observed. "That's too bad, I'm sure they'd be much better off if they went along Elec."

Shanairra attempts to gauge the remaining jackals and their actions to discern any possibility to rehabilitate through threats or gentle prodding, as she was rather good at either. She also worked to maintain a friendly face.

Insight to try and get any insight as to motivations to play upon for further attempts to rehabilitate[/sblock]

The responsibility of being charged with the care of a hostage is a heavy burden. said the wizard, his gaze traveling from eye to eye within the group, Lucky for us I have broad shoulders. Elec-Squall smiles as he pulls the chest off his back, and retrieves a long cord of rope. Holstering his wands and drawing his dagger, he splits the cord into two pieces. After which he re-splices the end into a large knot, so the his grappling system would hold again. Placing the dagger back in it's place, the former half-elf inquired to the prisoners again, If you have to relieve yourselves, now is the time.

Insight 20

Their motivations in giving up seem self preservation. They show little remorse over the death of their allies nor do they seem particularly angry or vengeful toward any member of the group.

It could be possible to rehabilitate them, at least to a degree.[/sblock]

The two captives turn down you're offer of relief, and the group moves on. The site in question is just a few minutes away from the ambush spot. The building itself looks much like the other ruins here, with little of interest inside. Clearly it's been visited before. There's a large antichamber (10 x 6), a central inner chamber (8x8), with two side chambers (7x7 and 4x6) which close with heavy stone doors.

Edward indicates a slab of the stone floor in the central chamber. With some help he slides it away revealing a large (4x4) shaft going down.

"Well. . .there it is." He says with a mix of joy and anxiety.

Cairn dettached himself from ruined wall and joined the group when they started walking.

"Stasi, I have a question. I thought I understood basics of your (I mean humanoids) mating rituals and I always connected them to interractions with living beings. Was that kiss a goodbye instead of mating? I don't think you knew him. Could you explain it to me?"

After explanation (whatever that is) he thanks her and turns to the prisoners:
"How many of you Jackals are out there? And do you have any enemies around that could bother us?"

Cairn observes the shaft, noting it's edges and roughness, assessing potential climb difficulty, taps into his knowledge of the earth to assess it's threat, but his experience is limited to mountain peaks and it's too dark to really see well inside.
