Devlin shakes his head as he regains conciousness.

"What happened? What was that thing?" he asks as he looks around and sees the small pile of broken metal. "I hope this falling unconcious every time we encounter something doesn't become a habit." Devlin regains his feet and checks his crossbow for any damage it might have sustained when he dropped it.

Silvercat stiffles a laugh at the look on his companions faces.'If you two are quite finished napping?'Shall we send someone back for the others? They are probably getting restless..

OoC:As well, it has been a few days in RL that we are scouting and the other players are patiently waiting. I think we can bring them up, guys?

"Okay, now that the halfling has gone back for the others, shall we continue on to scout ahead?" Devlin asks as he takes a couple of steps down the stairs.

Gregorian, finishing cleaning his nails for the upteen time, sees the halfling dash up to the rest of the group. "Oh remember us, did you?" he asks. He then carefully makes his way down with the rest of them to where the others had their fun, and notes the the other two have already traveled ahead.

"Is this the way of it then? Well, I'm not used to being coddled, but I guess I don't mind to much." Turning to the halfling, he says "You may want to run back ahead, but please let us know if you need any help." He pulls out his dagger once more and begins cleaning his nails once more.

Silvercat and Devlin walk slowly forwards, only a hundred feet ahead of the returning group. When everyone arrives together, Gur asks if they saw anything down in these tunnels.

Sullivan looks extremely concerned as he looks above and below, afraid of where the mechanations have gone to. The sound of picks and rotary saws seem to be coming from slightly farther down the cavern. You can all see that the room appears to open up a great deal after four hundred feet or so.

Gur rushes ahead to check something, and comes back quickly, "Our way is blocked. Theres a heavy bronze gate in the way, how do we move it? He glares at Sullivan.

Sullivan claims, "Well, we moved the doors with brute force a few months ago when we had the first full sized expedition down here. They were jammed into place with heavy iron poles, but something must have happened to them. Only three people can approximately lift the door at one time, and it's too heavy to really lift above your own head... but a halfling was sent to crank the winch back and raise the gate so we could place the door..."

Gur looks at everyone, "So, we're going to have to lift it up, and someone is going to need to get under it and work with one of the machines, alone?"

"I'd be happy to volunteer to crawl under and try to find something to secure the gate, if someone else lifts it." Gregorian says, sheithing his dagger. Anything to kill this boredom! he thinks, not for the first time. Seems like the only ones to have fun, are the ones in front. Besides, the other explores may have missed something.

"Gregorian, you are a brave soul. Now why don't the rest of us see if we can't give him the room he needs to get to the winch." With that, Devlin gives a glance to the others of the party and advances to the gate.

OoC:See Discussion thread for my absence...)

IC: Silvercat leands what aid he may in the lifting.
