Corix stays in the pack of adventurers and tries to keep a low profile....

Devlin:

The other hole is angled upwards for some reason, and you can vaguely make out a faint grayish illumination coming from above, but that is all. The rock is very similar to the rest of the cavern, only smoother.

Gregorian & Silvercat:

As the two of you work your way down the cavern, you find Devlin on his knees examining a strange narrow hole in the wall. There is another such hole on the opposite side of him. He has his sunrod in the circumfrance and appears to be examining the interior.

"Hmm, interesting..." Devlin looks back & forth between the two holes for a second or two, then replaces his sunrod on his shoulder and prepares to continue on.

 

[Uriel]

Content to keep watch while Devlin examines, Silvercat steps past him and peers down the passageway, looking for any thing of interest.

 

[Argent Silvermage]

Shariff catches up to Silvercat and says, "What's happening?"

 

[Dungannon]

"Oh, Silvercat, you decided to join me," Devlin comments with a slight start as he notices his associate for the first time. "You really should warn me, though. I might've fired my crossbow in haste if I wasn't preoccupied with these holes. But since your here now, shall we continue? The sound seems to be coming from a little farther ahead than I first thought."

Upon seeing Sharrif trundle up to the pair, Devlin gives a slight shake of his head. "Doesn't anyone understand what 'stay here' means?"

 

[Creamsteak]

As the three of you become fully aware of each other, you hear a mechanical noise coming from the first hole inspected. After a second, you see a tiny metal figure like that of a huge roach on the ground. It is made of bronze, and has two antennae in the air.

Suddenly it's two rear cases split open, and the tiny figure begins to release a pink gas with an amazing volume.

Initiative
Surprise Round:
Tiny Metal Figure - Sprays 15 ft. by 15 ft. area with pink gas, quickly filling the area.

First Round:
Silvercat - 21
Devlin - 10
Shariff & Metal Figure - 3

Initially all characters are forced to make a fortitude save before their actions, Devlin fails (7 rolled), Silvercat passes (13 rolled/also immune to the effects), Shariff Fails (9 rolled). Devlin and Shariff are made unconcious and fall prone by the effects of the gas.

 

[Argent Silvermage]

"Hey that's really neat!" Says Shariff just before he looses conciousness.

 

[Dungannon]

"So that's what I saw....." Devlin manages before slumping to the ground, his crossbow forgotten as the darkness engulfs him.

 

[Uriel]

Silvercat will (holding his breath) Charge up and try and smash the little thing with his Morningstar.
