"Yeah, Asen's lying in that wagon over there."

Jagos pauses to think of what has been said for a few seconds before continuing: "If he was infected with this Ghoul Powder and it will take effect after he wakes... Maybe we'd better tie him up before he does."

"You said the halfling helped you? Either of you know how? Or was it just... getting .. ehr.. unconscious again that gave you back control.

(OOC, did Jaren heal Marl like he said he was intending? Marl is/was at exactly 0 hp...)

It looked like the halfling was just resting, but he opens his eyes now and frowns in concentration.

"If you started to regain control when I spoke with you, then I'm hard-pressed to think what it was. All I did was speak with you..."

"Unless it wasn't me, and the man in white did something."

In answer to the questioning looks, Marl goes on. "Since things started going to hell in a handbasket, I've been keeping a low profile and trying to figure out what's going on. I'm pretty sure the foreman is in this up to his neck, and it's difficult to konw who to trust.

Anyhow, I was upstairs under cover when I heard someone moving - about man-sized, in ivory robes. A wizard, maybe. Most unusual thing I've seen since this has happened, so I decided to tail him. Then he jumps out of the window and floats to the ground, so I let myself out and follow him. I couldn't keep up without drawing attention to him, though, and I lost him around the entrance to the mines. That's when I approached these two to find out what they knew."

If he hasn't done so already, Jaret goes over to Marl and spontaneously casts Cure Light Wounds. He then checks the injuries on the rest of those present (Heal 7) to determine who needs healing beyond what a good night's rest will provide.

Let's see what happens when Asen wakes up. If he wakes up wild, we can see if we can break the hold it has on him. If he doesn't, we'll at least know that it either takes more exposure or a particular trigger to set it off. If we can't break the effects of the powder ourselves, we can try to track down this man in white.

Cure Light Wounds - [dice] + modifier. Is that all that was needed for that?

"You said the halfling helped you? Either of you know how? Or was it just... getting .. ehr.. unconscious again that gave you back control."

"Well, it was sort of like having your feet tugged or the sunlight cracking in through the window when you've overslept. I felt groggy, like my body was paralyzed, but it was still under control of the stuff. It looks like they didn't dose me with enough though, if I was able to come out of that stupor. Normaly the stuff wills traight up tear your mind to pieces just to get control."

After Marl's story, Arngrim is unable to confirm what happened.

"I don't remember anyone with robes, I just remember seeing you out of the corner of my eye. I wasn't all there though, but are you sure that this person just went right on past me? I didn't see a thing..."

"Well what about buster? What're you going to do with him? He's drooling like a goon over there, and I havn't heard a word from him yet. We need to flush the stuff out of his system with some anti-toxin or a lot of water. Maybe sweat him a little, or else it could get worse. Eventually that stuff'll make his gums start bleeding, and then blood will start leaking out from his brain and through his nose and mouth. After that... well... there won't be much anything short of divine favor can do for him."

Vanadan comes forward and joins others. "I believe the necromancer might have some anti-toxin on him. (Not that I care what will happen to our drooling friend. I'd like to acquire some of that powder.) Maybe we should find him first." He turns to Arngrim, "Is there only one entrance to the mines?"

Arngrim answers with a confused tone, "One entrance? Um... no... there's at least a few dozen. Most of the ones outside the camp that we know of are sealed off, but every once in a while you get bandits or kobolds coming in through some new hole in the wall. That's one of the reasons why they keep this place so well armed, it's a constant battle just to keep the mines secure."

"If there are more entrances than one... You, my friend," he points Arngrim, "you'll have to stay here and keep an eye for that necromancer if he decides to return to the camp. Kreepto can propably direct us to a quiet entrance. What do you think?" Vanadan ends his question by putting his hands to his sleeves waiting for others to reply.

[OOC: This might be a good time to check how many players we still have in this adventure.]

"How long do you think he has?" Jagos says concernedly. "Jaret, anything you can do for him?"

"Finding that robed man seems a good idea. If there aren't any other guards near where you guarded," Jagos looks questioningly at Arngrim, "taking that entrance is probarbly the best way to him"
