(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Marl takes a few steps forward and levels his crossbow at the figure. "All right, who are you, and what do you know about what's going on here in the mine?"

{OOC--I thought the map label was a bit of a giveaway... I didn't clue in from the description that this was an undead... and anyway I don't think Marl has seen any undead before. This should be fun...}

{Edit: Marl steps to A14, or B14 if Grog moves out of the way first}

Jarret quietly says to the rest of the group, There's something wrong about this guy. There's something about him that isn't like normal people, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. He touches his symbol of Chennet' for reassurance.

Moving his hand from the rapier to his sap, Jagos holds it ready as he waits to see if the turned miner will respond to Marl.

As everyone reaches for there gear, or makes movement into the room the man at the center of the room becomes suddenly attentive. He crouches, ready to spring forwards, his eyes focused wholy on Kreepto.

Kreepto, filled with cowardice, starts running in the opposite direction without any further provocations. Kreepto's small voiced yipping screams can be heard running down the incline behind the entrance to this part of the cavern.

The ghoulish man, distracted by the chosen prey's sudden flight refocuses on the rest of the incomers.

Initiatives
Marl 21
Vanadan 20
Grog 18
Kunst 14
Jagos 11
Kreepto 11
Jaret 11
Ghoul 4

Vanadan fires his crossbow sending a bolt flying towards the ghoul. "Stay back! It might be a trap," he shouts to others while reloading.

(Oh, this is just a preference, but I do like it when you post your damage and attack bonus in the thread. I don't mind rolling, but it's good to have everything in front of me when the time comes. I'll look these two bonuses up and handle them now (since your the first two to act on this round).)

Marl's crossbow bolt: +4 1d8+0 19-20
23 to hit, 4 damage rolled.

Vanadan's crossbow: +3 1d8 19-20/x2
18 to hit, 4 damage rolled.

Even though Marl's crossbow bolt strikes into the creatures chest, and Vanadan's bolt strikes the creature in an equally wounding manner, the creature is still standing, further stunned.
