ao'Thuir of the Ghost Tribe, male Wood Elf Barbarian 1

ao'Thuir joins Katherine and Hallador as they head towards the nearest sailor's pub. "Katherine, as you have a plan in mind, I will let you do the talking and try to just look impressive. Hopefully that will disuade the wrong sort from signing up with us."

Traveling with Katherine and ao'Thuir towards the inns for more crew for this journey, Well if any potential crew seem to have evil intent towards this journey, I should be able to weed them out

OOC: as we interview potential crew Hallador will use his Detect Evil to weed out potential trouble.

Remi - the ship seems a little cramped, but overall, looks to be in good condition. Belowdecks there is a decent-sized hold, and a small room with at least a dozen bunks that could easily fit double the party's current number.

Zumar takes a look around the boat, looking nervously at the thin wood between him and the ocean. "You sure this thing will hold up? I've seen boards thicker than this hull snap in half before."

Remi Odaren, Human Rgr 2

Remi takes a deep breath of the fresh sea air, smiles and turns to Zumar & Jericho
"She's a sailing vessel, and a trade ship at that, not a dwarven fortress. We'll need a name though.

Jericho, aside from a crew and some supplies will we need anything else before she's ready to sail?"

Jericho shakes his head. "I be thinkin' ye'll not be needin' much more than ye're already lookin' for, that bein' a crew an' supplies."

OoC: Update for the group looking for crew coming later tonight or tomorrow... would you prefer to go through the process with each candidate individually, or would you prefer that I just run through it quickly?

OoC for my part just skimming over it would be fine, I want to go risk life and limb :)

Given a bit more time with Hallador and Katherine, ao'Thuir says cheerfully, "Well this looks to be a dangerous adventure, I can certainly say that I am looking forward to it. Having journeyed far to these southern lands I was worried that danger was a foreign concept reserved only for our tribes in the north. But if I am correct in what I think you have planned Katherine, this is definitely going to get the adrenaline pumping. What about you Hallador, you up for a little confrontation on the open seas?"

Looking at ao'Thuir and smiling grimlyIf evil is at sea then that is where it will be vanquished....although personally I would rather face it on dry land as I hear that fighting a foe is quite different when one is busy throwing up over the side of a ship, but as the say in these area's Aye Matey! ARRRRRHHHH!

if katherine finds someone with what she considers trustworthy info on the behavior of pirates on this coast, I'd like to roleplay at least part of the conversation. Mostly I want to make sure that Kath's skills are of use in getting us a decent crew and good supplies - obviously she's a social skill based character and dependance on roleplaying exclusively, or just getting the planned future plot hooks whether she takes time, care (and 10) to interview are both underpowering...

Major interview points:
Do they seem comfortable and willing to have a female captain? No grudging acceptance that could lead to them hesitating at a crucial moment.
Do they know about pirates and what dangers they might pose? This may not effect their hire, unless they know a little too much and have a little too much enthusiasm for the subject, in which case katherine will buy them extra drinks, pick their brains and find out she already has enough crew. ;)
A general feel for bravery without stupidity would be good...

If she can find a local temple with a good overlap with druids and/or rangers, katherine will definitly choose that one to look for a wand of cure light at. (she has a oaktree talisman from a druid/ranger lodge that she got in Uriels adventure, which she will not flaunt or draw attention to, but which she is wearing on a ribbon as a standard part of her outfit.) If she can get a partially empty wand at a lower cost, that would be good too...

Either ao'thuir or Hallador should prolly take a side trip to make sure that everyone with a ranged weapon has extra amunition and everyone who doesn't have one yet gets a ranged weapon.
