(Adventure) Hunt for the Cirya de Pietro [Judge - garyh]

In addition to the wand, Katherine will buy about a hundred GP worth of trade goods, using liberal gather information, apraise and diplomacy checks. She plans at this point to follow the pirate avoiding advice until they get to a good sized trade city south, (where there should be no chance of their mission having leaked out) where she can get more information on the movements of pirates and work on the next step of the plan...

ooc: sorry I haven't posted for a bit...been really busy at work..

If you need some extra help with that au'Thuir...I'll go with you and chip in some extra cash....and perhaps a Heavy Crossbow will do to help...

OOC: Actually the reason that I was going to pick up the 3rd light xbow was for Hallador. I took a look at our character sheets and saw that he needed one. Opted for light cause that was all i could afford 3 of. So provided that Hallador and ao'Thuir meet up I will choose to forgo the extra light crossbow and get the heavy one that Hallador wants. So the order is 2 light crossbows, 1 heavy crossbow, 70 bolts, and 40 arrows. Coming to 79gp for me and 50gp for ferretguy.

"Great to have you along to do the shopping Hallador, don't know these merchants would like to see me comin into their shops."

ao'Thuir, Hallandor - the various merchants sell you what you're looking for at their listed price, though any attempts to haggle fail miserably.

Katherine - you acquire a decent amount of trade goods for your hundred gold, enough to plausibly pass for a merchant vessel. Most merchants seem unwilling to talk, though... haggling seems to get you nowhere. You get the feeling that most of these merchants have been here for a long time and seen many things, and you seem unable to phase them with your charms.

Glad to be of help my friend...although to be truethfull....I really HATE using bows of any type...just never got the knack of using them...

OOC: guess we better go get into some fights so katherine's social skills will improve. ;)

When Katherine meets up with the group again, she reports her aquisitions (wand, crew and goods) and is pleased at the weapons gathered. "We should probably pack these as if they were luggage, and simply carry the arms we do commonly... no need to make our crew nervous by looking as though we are searching for trouble..." After describing the crew, she says "I think one of these men, perhaps Ricardo, should be assigned as second mate. While I can throw back my hair and command the vessel south," she strikes an overzealous pose as if standing at the prow of a mighty vessel then laughs as she finishes, "It might be good to have someone with rank who can actually assign the tasks needed to accomplish that. One of you who has expereince with battles and tactics should take the official position of first mate, and issue the crew's defensive orders in case of trouble. And the rest of you will have the official duty of slapping us silly if we actually allow these 'positions' to go to our heads." She grins and pulls out her inks and paper to begin scribing the ship's Orders. "Say, does our ship have an official name?"

Remi Odaren, Human Rgr 2

As everyone gathers back at the ship Remi hands 2gp to ao'Thuir for the arrows and 100gp to Katherine to go towards the wand & trade goods.

"I think we're all qualified for 'First Mate' but I think Hallandor really looks the part. What do you say, are you up for it?

No name yet, I've been waiting to bring that up until everyone got back. What do you think about 'The Gazelle'?"

OOC: Congratulations on getting married Kahuna. :)

ao'Thuir greets everyone as he and Hallandor return with the weapons, "Ah, hmm First Mate eh? Yup Hallandor gets my vote too." He says patting his friend on the back with his free hand. "and the Gazelle sounds appropriate, we used to hunt them on the plains in the summer. One of them can give quite the kick if you dont watch it. I think we might want to place the weapons in a fairly easy to reach place as trouble is out there. Didn't Rinaldo mention that this is pirate season, I think having weapons out will mean that we know that we might get into trouble, might look a bit more professional I think."

OOC: Ooops, I forgot all about the money we already got.

Zumar gives 37 gp to ao'Thuir to cover the weapons, and 50 gp to Katherine to cover trade goods, sailors, and a few hits from the wand.

First Mate ehh? Sounds like a good challange for my skills, ahh my first command against those that bring evil to the waves...sounds fun to me!Thinking of the possibilities of command at sea does do his heart good....Having the extra weapons in reach would be good...does this vessel happen to have a storage locker on deck? I'll have to start getting plans ready for defense of this fine ship and cargo...much to do...much to do....Hallador wonders on to the ship thinking of defense and tactics for future use...
