Adventure ideas - 1 PC - Class: Thief!

I've just started a 1-1 mini campaign for a thief PC. I welcome any
story hooks, event ideas etc to keep the character busy.

Some random ideas that aren't very original but might serve as starting points:

An oldy but a goody: Break into an archmage's tower, ala Conan or Gord.

Expose spies from the assassins or beggars guilds that have infiltrated the theives guild.

Hunt down a notorious cat burglar...who turns out to be monstrous, such as a drider.

Clear the sewers of monsters once and for all so that the other "Theive's Highway" (other than the rooftops) is available once again.

For starters, how about a scenario where the thief has to prove himself to the Guild before he is admitted by stealing a certain item? Then toss in the double-cross from the other thief trying to join the Guild, and any other twists you like, heat and serve.

How about having the thief saved by a minor noble, wealthy merchant etc, and then get caught up in the troubles and dealings of the new associate. This should work well if the PC wants to go a non thieves guild way. I am thinking of Jimmy the Hand from the Riftwar Saga.

You could have multiple thieves guilds or other guilds fighting for territories in the street. This will allow the PC to choose his alliance or work independantly without as much risk of being caught by the guild.

Both of these situations will allow lots of role playing and when needed some good ol' fashion ass whoopin.

intrigues

That's good 'knowthetoe' - I will likely go with that as an opening situation.

I'm considering an enigmatic sorceror of unknown alignment, who is involved in various schemes that the PC is trying to figure out, but never too sure of.

The sorceror agrees to be a patron to the thief in return for various 'procurements'.

There was an old BD&D module -- M1, Blizzard Pass, that was designed for a solo thief. It was a solo invisible ink module, but had an adventure at the back a DM could run.

You might be able to find it at SVGames as a download ...

Throw in a Bhallspawn-style twist, but his dad is Mask, and he didn't go around hitting up women for the reasons Bhaal, did, he was just horny during the time of troubles. NYAH!
