(Adventure) Immortality Awakens (Knight Otu Judging) Part II

*Sykhia nods and grabs too glasses, then she heads over to some spice containers holding sugar and cloves.*

"Do you want yours spiced? Anyway, as for Larue, it is as simple as what I told you before--Larue is an odious and unscrupulous bastard. Daddy wants to be a court alchemist though, and Larue wants to keep me as some sort of trophy."

"Spice it up however you would," Cade says. "Seems odd though, that a father'd sell out his own daughter for a position. I mean, the man has skill, so not sure why he'd need to do anything else."

"In my family, things are pretty easy. My parents raise dogs, and I woulda done the same if I hand't joined the Militia to defend the town agains the goblin hordes that kept harrassing us and stealing our crops."

Edit:
[sblock=OOC]I know something that smells like almonds ;) Admittedly though, i've never seen anyone so set on comitting suicide, honestly to the point where it's unreal and unbelievable, not to mention suicide is a personaly touchy subject with me.[/sblock]

"He wouldn't 'sell me out', but he thinks that Larue is a nice guy and won't be convinced otherwise...a lot of people do who don't know the black heart that beats within him. I didn't even know the full extent of his evil ways until after I had already eloped with Valaryn...He had always been polite before, but I just didn't like him that way," she pours and mixes from the various containers into the two glasses and heads back to the table, "That doesn't explain how you went from being a militiamen to what you do now...you know, murdering husbands in the night and all the rest."

"You wound me ma'am. I went to Orussis looking to learn to be a better warrior and protect my town better. There, I met a young girl who's sick with a curse from a demon, and I've set off to help heal her. On our way, we met a little girl who was orphaned, and had apparently been taken in by a gray render. We then went to a villiage that had been swindled by some hobgoblins, and we recovered their money for them. And we were almost half way there when we entered your town and recieved the desparate pleas from your father to rescue you from the Red Dragon, and thus, here I am. Now I hope what I have learned I can use to help my villiage, but I also intend to give much of what I find to that little orphaned girl who's waiting for me back in Orussis."

"I see...well I guess it doesn't take a villain to slay a hero...or ruin an innocent life. It's just...if someone had to kill Valaryn, why couldn't it have been Larue? You're not making it easy for me to hate you!......and...and without that to cling to, it makes me feel worse..."

"Well, I certaintly don't want you to hate me, and I certaintly don't hold my head up with pride on killing your husband. I do understand your anger though. I just wish I could find some way to ease your pain.

Speaking of which do you know a good cleric or wizard you trust to look over you? You've been enchanted some how, but Scun can't figure out by what."

"Ease my pain..."

"Oh, a cleric or wizard? No, we don't have any of those in our little town. And I haven't been enchanted--unless Larue did something to me while I was asleep. If so, I can't tell the difference, though."

"Well, as long as it isn't affecting me, it shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, we don't really have anyone who could check that. The best anyone in town might be able to do would just be to detect the presence or absence of magic."
