Anton smiles at Thurgan, "Not only that, this does not strike you as very odd?"

He turns back to Larue. "Did you wake Sykhia before carrying her off? What happened to make her fall asleep again? Why did you come here to take her at all? Did we not agree to have Sykhia go to you once she saw her father here? Is her father going to stay at your mansion? If so, who will take care of the business here? If the situation changed, should you not have had the manners to inform us?"

Once those have been answered, Anton continues. "Moreover, why can you not make some space on the carriage for us? We would get there faster if we could arrange ourselves in the carriage, at least the slower of us. Or, failing that, let us walk along your carriage--if anything should happen on the way, there is strength in numbers."

*Larue smiles.*

"Ah, so many details you wish to know. I see I have a fan."

"Let's see. I actually wasn't sure if Sykhia would be ready yet, but I was heading back home to my manor, so I sent a messenger to see if she wanted to come along. She was awake at the time and said you had just left, so the messenger went to go fetch you and bring you along, while Sykhia came out to the carriage. She brought along some fine wine for the wedding, too. Isn't she just the sweetest? She said she was tired and wanted to get some rest, though. I asked if she saw her father, but apparently Maurice has been called to my father's aid. I dearly hope this doesn't mean mother is sick again...Regardless, we shall have to ask father about that part."

"Sadly, there is not enough space for the two dwarves and one halfling in the carriage. We could fit two of them cramped, but then I'm not sure Sykhia would be able to sleep in comfort, and you would still have to move at the pace of the third--though actually, I will admit that I had not thought of taking the slowest of you along. When I considered you, I considered one big group that I knew was far too large to bring along. As for walking along the carriage, I would prefer not to be out much past dark, and the carriage can get there that quickly at normal speed."

"So many questions--let us save our fine conversation and tales of valour for your arrival at the manor."

Anton sighs, "Still, we would have liked to have been informed of the change in plans before the person we were watching over was taken away. ... Some of us could ride the horses, in front, could we not? Or, ride on top?"

ooc: carriages tend to have flat tops, and space for cargo, don't they?

"Apologies, good sir. I did send the messenger to tell you of this, but I heard you had already left."

"I'm afraid the poor horses in front would not be able to pull the wagon and hold riders at the same time without being quite tired out. As for the rooftop, one of you could try, but I would fear for your safety. There is nowhere to hold on, and we would be moving very fast."

(OOC: Indeed. The roof is fairly flat, though it is curved a bit. There is also indeed cargo space, but it is full of the aforementioned bags)

ooc: I thought the cargo was in the back--no? And, if the horses are encumbered, their movement goes from 40' to 30', right? Which means the same speed as the 'normal-speeded people' right? Regardless, they wouldn't get tired out unless pushed, right?

Thurgan listened to the conversation, looked to Cade and then to Anton, "Why ain't the girl awake w'all yer jabberin' and stuff? Seems darn odd ta me. What say to them magicks that were s'posed ta be checked fer this mornin'? Sounds like a good time ta check, if'n ya want."
