Rillian will aid another (+5 Survival) Anton and will share a tent with Scun.

ooc: Always be near the clerics :) I will update Rillian to 4th soon, just been too busy.

(OOC: That leaves Anton with Tandi then. Okey dokey)

*Thanks to Rillian and Anton's work, most of the tents are fine, despite the barrage of harsh sand. However, the biting sand tears its way into Rillian and Scun's tent, ripping into them and stinging as it does. Since the exposure is quite limited, they aren't too affected by it, and at least nobody's tent blows away in the sand.*

(OOC: Rillian and Scun take 4 and 6 damage, respectively, due to the Sandstorm. They also have a bit of trouble sleeping due to the sand attacking them, so they're a bit groggy the next morning, but by the day after, they're fine, and no doubt healed)

*After recovering from the ordeal with the sandstorm, they continue onward for days through the desert again. Eventually, they hear a somewhat high-pitched scream, as of a woman dying. Cresting over the top of the next sand dune, they see a ring of figures swathed in hood and scarves to cover their faces from the sand, circled around a group of what is either children or halflings, whom they are slaying.*

(OOC: Going to approach a bit closer to see more details?)

(OOC: Not from this distance, which means probably not from close up either. Keep in mind that the Sairundani live in the southern desert near the other tower, rather than the eastern desert)

*As Cade approaches, the face-covered figures in the ring continue their assault, and indeed those they are killing are halflings. One of the taller humanoids spins, moving gracefully through the air like a dance, as the sand flies around her, moving to crush one of the halflings, turning the sand red with blood. Another impales a halfling at distance with a polearm, running though the pretty young halfling woman, at least killing her instantly without suffering. A third in the back stares at one of the halflings and the halfling clutches his head, spasms, and collapses to the ground, unmoving. However, there are a lot of halflings still, and only twelve hooded figures, and the halflings rail against those who have encircled them, fighting with daggers and axes and managing to bring down one of the twelve in the circle.*

Cade spurs Alton on forward, shield and lance in hand. "Ho there, why do you slaughter these halflings so?" he calls out.

*The hooded figures notice Cade and turn, not happy that another halfling foe has charged in from the other side. Still, the target closest to Cade a man, only grins, unafraid, despite being imminently flanked.*

"Halfling dog! You will fall by my spear before you harm us."

*Meanwhile, one of the halfling girls shouts out.*

"A brother! Like the fabled saviour from the stories--save us, brother, and we shall feast in your honour tonight!"

Cade addresses the man who speaks to him, "Again, I ask, why do you do such a thing? Such mindless slaughter, why not simply ask for surrender?"
