(Adventure) Immortality Awakens (Knight Otu Judging) Part II

ooc: Okay, a single casting of Create Water by a 3rd level Cleric yields 6 gallons of water. How many gallons of water will our party need per day (party members and mounts)? He currently has 2 castings prepped (or, 12 gallons of water).

(OOC: The Institute of Medicine recommends 3 litres of water a day, plus about 1/4 of that per hour of exercise (like marching). Plus maybe an extra litre and a half to three litres due to the hot weather. About 3/4 of a litre less for women. I have no idea about animals, but I know camels can store a bunch and drink very little. A litre is slightly more than 1/4 gallon. It looks like 12 gallons is just about exactly enough for all the characters, if not any mounts)

ooc: Well, according Wikipedia, camels can "survive without water for about two weeks, and without food for up to a month." They dont' store water, their bodies just use it up very slowly. They store fat. I get the impression that when they do eat or drink, it's not any more than normal (though it doesn't say that).

ooc: So, probably, we wouldn't need more than 3 castings of Create Water per day, since not all the mounts are camels.

Scun grins. "Not arcane, but yeah, I've been making water for us all along. How do you think your waterskin is filled each morning?"

(ooc: Sure, I'll pack 3 create waters for desert travel)

"Not one fer open spaces . . . hot open spaces even less," Thurgan muttered, "No ruttin' place fer a dwarf, that's fer sure."

"Thought I heard tell from a trav'ler that yer 'sposed ta sleep durin' the day an' travel at night? How's that s'posed ta work?" Thurgan asked.

"Well, Tandi, you're from the desert, how do you travel?" Cade asks.

OOC: I personaly know that most desert travel was done either at night, or there was a 2 hour rest durring the hottest part of the day, depending on the culture, the heat, and the light at night. Cade knows less of this, so can only use common sense. I don't know what Tandi knows OOC vs IC, but she should be be expert.
