(Adventure) Immortality Awakens (Knight Otu Judging) Part II

"You cannot trust someone who has no vhal and no concept of zij. They can stab you in the back while you are sleeping or steal from you and have no remorse. I think we may be able to help, but if you want to have a guide, you will need to cease associating with such people, for your own sake if nothing else."

*Alric looks to see if there is a reply before affirming or denying the final statement.*

"As I said, some places the vhal and zij have different requirements. She has fought and bled with us through many battles, and against bitter foes. She may be rude by your customs, but she has earned our trust."

"And as I said, she was doing it on purpose. Surely this is unacceptable to you as well? If not, then I am afraid that all outsiders are barbarians such that our peoples can never be friends."

"Perhaps she is simply offended by some of your treatment and lack of tolerance for ways not of your own," Cade says.

"I would think so, but I know not what goes on in her mind, only that she has saved me from the brink of death more than once, and that her ways are different from my own as well. If your help is on the condition that she not join us, then I am shall accept though."

*The clan chief nods.*

"We will not help someone who despises all decency, but we will help you, as your aid likely saved at least one of ours from death."

"You seek the knowledge of Ancient Eternity. You will therefore walk the forbidden halls of Ancient Eternity, and so we shall provide a guide. Shall we send Meliana?" he looks to the blue-eyed woman.

"Either her or perhaps Sashal," she replies, "Meliana is the healer you helped in the battle, and Sashal is an apprentice seer."

"Would you like me to call them in so you can choose who will be your guide?" Alric asks Cade.

Scun ponders some more. Another healer would be nice, but I think a seer would be good too. A little foresight goes a long way.
