*Rillian's attack is awkward and misses completely. Cade's charge, on the other hand, nearly pierces the tortoise's thick skin, but barely fails to do so.*

Cade turns and charges the tortise again, striking at it as he passes by.
OOC: Lance +8 1d6+5* 20X3, 3xdmg for mounted charge, +2 attack for charging not included.
OOC2: Might I suggest a 48 hour NPC rule for combat so things can keep moving? Particularly if we need to keep pace with another group.

Hanging in there. Better than the alternative.
As the great tortoise bursts out of the sand, Anton halds his hat with his hand, preventing extraneous sand from blowing his hat away. His other hand reaches toward his bow, and he then steps back and lets an arrow loose.
ooc: attack +6, damage 1d8
If within 30', add in bonuses from point blank shot (+1 each to attack and damage)

*Anton's shot goes far astray and buries into the sand.*
*Sashal closes her eyes and focuses, and her eyes glow blue.*
"Monster...I see the threads of your fate...your many destinies that end in death," she intones as her hand glows blue as well and lashes out towards the creature, striking it against the shell. For its part, the tortoise seems unnerved and unable to concentrate properly.
*Scun uses Rillian as a human shield to protect himself from the tortoise's snapping jaws, as he is moving into its reach, and he casts a spell to give Rillian temporary relief.*
*The tortoise strikes at Rillian, hurting him badly again, but unable to finish him thanks to Scun and Sashal.*
(OOC: Rillian gains 8 temporary HP and a +1 to hit and saves vs fear
Tortoise takes -2 to attacks, damage, saves, etc
Rillian loses the temporary HP and then takes 6 real damage
Back to Rillian again)

(OOC: Bront--don't worry, you're still ahead of the other group. However, it seems pretty likely that Rillian wants to Rage and attack. However, it is admittedly a weekend, so I'll wait until at least tomorrow for him)

*Filled with anger, Rillian makes a middlingly competent attack, but it is not enough to penetrate the tortoise's rock-solid armour.*
*Cade, on the other hand, just barely manages to pierce the tortoise through a crack into its rough hide, dealing a nasty wound, but ultimately a tiny one compared to the sheer immensity of the tortoise.*
(OOC: T takes 21 Damage (talk about bad damage rolls!)

*Sashal closes her eyes and concentrates deeply, opening them again to stare intently at the tortoise, a strange sound heard only in the mind echoing forth from her, as she staggers a bit, as if having drawn away her strength to fuel her power. The tortoise reels backwards as if physically struck and then lashes out in all directions spasmodically. Now it is angry!*
(OOC: And very high rolls--T takes 34 more Damage, total 55)
