No, but I'm still in the middle of Finals. One more on Wednesday and the worst of them on Thursday, then I'm heading home on Friday. From that point on I'll be on dial-up. That's my regular connection, and I'll probably update once per day or every other day at that point.

Well once again, good luck with the finals. Looking forward to resuming the game!

(Yep finals are hell, finished my MBA off in February and had an absolute nightmare trying to study - my three year ld wanting me to read to him, the baby wanting to be held and my wife upset that I was putting everything else on hold.)

[Alright, I've sufficiently settled in back home and will be updating my sig to state that. Thanks for pittying me and my schedule for the past few weeks :p. It went by much quicker for me than I bet it did for people not going through the cycle.]

Items: You can find 17 crossbow bolts on the beheaded halfling, and a quiver of 20 dropped by a fleeing halfling, and 16 others among the dead halfllings and their crossbows. There are three light crossbows, and a repeating light crossbow, all made for small sized characters. There is one medium sized crossbow that was dropped behind the fallen tree in the distance. The lead halfling that was killed was wearing a small gemed silver ring (green gemstone) and had three vials of coppery colored liquid in his possession.

After acquiring whatever of the remains of the halfling are worth collecting, the party can leave down the forested path towards the mountains that lead into the ogre camp. Once inside the mountains, it should only be a mile to the Ogre and his mercenary camp which resides in the middle of a small crater in the lowest end of the mountains. With your current time and pace, you would arrive at the edge of this crater at daybrake, and according the "Watchman's Watch" about 12 hours before the party that left before you should send their signal from outside the camp.

Fangor will try and appraise the silver ring. Then, looking at the vials, he turns to the others, "By chance, wuld any uv you know what these are?"

OOC - The halfling that Fnagor downed, since he was still concious, Fangor might wake him and ask why they were attacked and if they know of the Ogre that the group is tracking. If not, then oh well, it never hurts to ask...

Your appraise check can only estimate that it must be worth at least 100 gold pieces for the silver ring, but the gemstone inset is an unknown.

Interrogating the wounded halflings reveals that they know nothing about the ogre and the mercenary camp in the mountains.

remembering her obsession with potions, Sara will ask Karcer if she can guess at what is in the flasks. (expereimenting on any of the halflings, living or dead, will be discouraged)

Once inside the mountains, it should only be a mile to the Ogre and his mercenary camp which resides in the middle of a small crater in the lowest end of the mountains. After consulting with Thoria (holder of the watch) on the timing, Sara seems concerned and pauses everyone for a confab. "I don't know anything about mercaneries, or establishing a camp, or... well... much of anything outside of showing off, hitting people and betting on the right guy..." She grins cheerfully at the admission of her 'sheltered life' and continues, "But I'd suppose they would have sentries and maybe even scouts. How close do the big mess of us want to get so soon before we're expected? Or is someone a great deal more subtle than me interested in checking things out?"

"Aye, and as a dwarf, I am not one to go walkin' though these trees here as quietly as you would like. I would prefer to wait fer the signal. Then go from there. My axe needs some testing, as those halflings did not give much of a chance to warm up."

Checking the padding around his weapons and ensuring there are no loose odds and ends to make noise, Harwin steps forward (after picking up a quiver of crossbow bolts and one of the crossbows)

I'll take a quick look ahead, give me an hour or so and I will check if there is anything to worry about but before leaving...

Turns to the captured halfling

Why were you holdoing people up at the bridge, tell the truth or it will go badly for you!

OOC: This is Aranel, posting under AMG's name ^^;

IC:Karcer had been lovingly taking care of her axe before she was asked anything about potions. Her already overbright eyes lit up a little more. A toothy grin spread over her face as she listened.
"Sounds intrestin'." On putting away her axe, she walked over and helped herself to one. On realising the others were asking the halfling about relatively important things, but not te most important, Karcer strode over to join in.

"Oi," instead of a greeting. She didn't have to crouch down like the others before the halfling and chose not to. Instead she towered over him as best she could and fixed him with a smile as she pushed the potion under his nose.
"Tell me wha' this's or I feed it to yer." She growled.

All: The halfling can barely explain his circumstances in a coherent way. He claims to be from a poor village of earth made homes that has had a horrible series of events happen to them in recent history. A fire burned their crops, goblins killed four women while the men were away hunting, and a group of human children that were left with them long ago have grown too big to still believe they are halflings.

They have been holding up people at the river for at least a few months, often earning small pittons of money to trade for necessary food where they can.

They've had a very bad run of luck ever since two years ago when one of the human children stole an artifact from an old cursed cavern and then ran away to another human city.

Harwin:
After an hour and a half of examining the wilderness, you can see smoke that pillars upwards from the camp in the distance, but there is no sign of any markings that would hint at any men scouting or visiting this region of the forests around the mountains. The entire region seems devoid of anything except for the smallest of animals.
