Adventure: Just Before Nightfall (DM:johnmeier1, Judge:Ozymandias79)

Standing to the rear and off to the side Janus can see the stone work above the entrance is far from stable.

"Hold Friends yonder stonework is unstable. Proceed with caution." Janus says quietly.

Shorrin stops immediately and looks at the stonework. "How unstable? Should we not go in?" The dragonborn looks at his hammer, "Or should I try to bring the wall down?"

[sblock=Janus] About 10 feet in it gets particularly treacherous, so any contact with the floor or walls will cause rocks to fall over the whole first 10 feet of the corridor and maybe further on. It will not make the entrance impassible, but it would really hurt anyone inside when it happened.[/sblock]

Dextyr stands to the back with Jannis letting the others venture forth. Expecting more shadow creatures to jump out at any moment he draws his longsword and keeps his eyes and ears open, but keeps getting distracted by the sounds of the woods at night.

"The stonework is treacherous for at least 10 feet, it would seem that this is not an oft used path. Unless for a creature that can fly. I would not recommend going this way, one false move and you will be wearing the tower. Permanetley." Janus chuckles at his own quip. Realizing no one else seems to share the joke he continues. "Perhaps a reconnoiter of the surrounds would be a wiser course of action."

Murphy gives Janus a pat on the back, "Well ol' chap, well done indeed. I can take a gander around the edges, maybe we all stick together fer safety and all that? I can even take point" he says.

From where Tonk is standing he can easily see the corridor in the dim light. The boulder he finds is heavy, but after hefting it is obvious the half-orc can throw it. It sails ten feet into the corridor and strikes a wall, it knocks aside some boulders and the wall caves in. Suddenly more large pieces of masonry fall from above in almost the whole corridor for a few seconds, then silence. There are dozens of head-sized chucks littering the passageway.

[sblock=Dungeoneering or Nature 24 roll again] There could still be enough loose to cause one or more avalanches[/sblock]

The stones settle after a few seconds of crashing and silence reigns in the ruins.

[sblock=OOC] In order to move things along, and I think I made an error with the rockslide, you can carry on either here or another approach.

[sblock=Janus or anyone else making the check above] Actually it seems as if the rockslide is over and those loose stones have already fallen [/sblock]

Dextyr holds his position near the rear of the group by Janus waiting for on of the others to flush out the enemies he expects are waiting for them.

"Perhaps there are lower levels to these ruins" Dextyr mentions. "We may have to venture in and find where the girl is being held".
