[Adventure] KOGANÙSAN (DM: Sanzuo, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

GM: Sorry, almost left you out.

While the others inspect the bizarre room, shale telekinetically grabs his sunrod (ooc: Far Hand encounter power) and lowers it just on top of the water level, looking for anything that moves.

At first it looks dark and empty, but then your light catches a small white shape, then another. The water is infested with zombie carp. Suddenly you notice a shape obscuring the fish just before it descends out of your light. There is also something... larger in there.

You also notice that the traps themselves are effective, but simple. There is no automatic reset on the swinging rocks, and possibly not the blades either. Once triggered, a square would become safe... if the target managed to dodge the initial attack.

OOC: We could use Karma's Telekinetic Lift power that way. Since it can lift unattended objects, we only need a rock big enough. He could activate each plate with the rock from a safe distance

OOC: I posted this before, but I admit it was a bit hidden. I used two healing surges to get to 32 HP (although perhaps it should be full health, since when I leveled up, those new hit points are at +10/10, not +0/10, right?).

Against the target of this exploit, you gain a bonus to defenses equal to your Charisma modifier (+4) until the start of your next turn (due to Feat). The target can make a melee basic attack against you as a free action and has combat advantage for the attack. If the target makes this attack, an ally of your choice within 5 squares of the target can make a basic attack against the target as a free action and has combat advantage for the attack.

OOC: Looks like most of us prefer a fight with the dogs to the hall of traps; I'm fine with that. However, let's at least try, if Cute-Hydra agrees, the idea of deactivating the tyles with Telekinetic Lift and a weight. We know that at least it should inutilize swinging blades and stone traps, implying that there are other traps that do have automatic reset. However we can jump over these plates, or use the Floating Disk to avoid them. Thoughts?

OOC: I'm expecting to have to come back to this area after dealing with the doggies. We can mess with the traps now or later, doesn't matter to me.

Karma goes back to find a rock. "Stand back everyone, Mireva alone knows what is going to happen.."

OOC: Is there any way to create a stack block or is it done manually and copied?

Actions: minor, telekinetic grab on a rock.. potentially needing to go outside and fine one.

Exert pressure with said rock on square M12 (out of line of us as a test to see what happens).

Healing surge wise, Karma extended 1 surge to remain 1 hit point less than max, this means he has 4 left.

GM: Alright, we'll do it like this.

Just as the party is about to turn around and head back outside, Karma is suddenly infected with curiosity and decides that science must happen. He finds a large rock nearby (there are plenty of these) and with utmost concentration and a sci-fi "weeeeoooooo" noise, picks it up with his mind. He then hurls the rock onto one of the pressure plates Shrakk identified.

Almost immediately there is an audible "clunk" and a half-second later an even larger rock on a chain swings into the area of the walkway and connects with Karma's rock. The two collide with an ear-splitting crack. After that the rock-on-a-chain swings back and fourth before coming to rest a few moments later. That would definitely smart.
  • Question: What happens when rock hits plate?
  • Hypothesis: Trap will trigger.
  • Procedure: Smash plate with rock.
  • Data: Rock hits rock with tremendous force.
  • Conclusion: I am glad I am not that rock.

Square K-4 is now "safe."
