Still having her weapons and shield out, She will attempt to charge any ratman she can see. Hopefully someone can at least slow it down.

If anybody goes chasing after a rat, Vargo tries to keep up and sends Huln on ahead on "guard" of the person running ahead.

OOC: The Guard trick means that Huln will attack anybody who attacks the person he is guarding; therefore if the wererat tries to fight back instead of escaping, Huln will attack him.
 

Razh, already somewhat spent from his rage (though no longer fatigued) decides to take it a bit slower this time. He moves quickly and quietly towards the nearest wererat, using as much stealth as a dwarf in armor can use.

Double move in direction of voice that said "One."

This requires hitting the correct square; let's say you have a 1 in 6 chance of this, given that ratman2 spoke.

Then if you pick the right square, there is a 50% miss chance.

If those two are passed, you need to hit the AC.

Here goes: need a 6 on a d6. "3" Doesn't target right square.

Juliana can't charge through the forest, but can get within 10' of the ratman.

Huln runs up and guards Juliana; Huln can get within 5' of the RatMan.

Raz gets 10 feet from the RatMan.
 

At the bottom of the round, Ratman2 goes, double moving (retreat) away from the PC's, into the complete darkness; not even Almayce can see him now.

The only party member with enough movement and vision to keep up with them is Huln. Vargo -- let me know if you want Huln to somehow try to go 1-on-1 with a Ratman. Or two.

From the other side of the party, you can hear distant noises; Ratman1 is moving around a little bit.

You have moved about 150 feet into the forest; Vargo thinks the rise/hill is about 400 feet away at this point.

We are out of combat time, unless Huln makes some sort of pursuit.

Question: what will be party do to stop a repeat ambush, occuring every 100 feet or so? What is the party going to do in general? Still head for the hill (which might or might not be more defensible)?
 

"Do we even have a way to hurt them?" Juliana asks quietly, so hopefully only the party can hear her. "I think if we move a bit slower and are ready to poucnce at the first sign of them, we might be able to do something, but it doesn't help if we can't damage them."

OOC: We can move and take ready actions with ranged weapons if we see them, or at least ready actions to move close to them if we see them, but again, does anyone have a weapon than can harm one?
