Adventure:-- LPNN (Manzanita Judging)

"Can anybody ride? My horse is not trained for combat, but I figure it's fast enough to catch them.", Almayce says. "Otherwise we'll either have to find more secure position or wait that they run out of bolts."

{Need party-wide consensus regarding next action. Move ahead to the rise? Go back to the clearing? Stay put where you are?

Horses won't truthfully do too well in a forest with indeterminate lighting.}

Spoken in a hushed voice: "My comrade Nezrak possessed a spell that produced dancing lights - if anyone here can cast it, we could extinguish our lights and use it as a decoy, hopefully luring them in the wrong direction. We could also retreat a little, let a few of us hide while the others spring a a counter-ambush. If someone could grant me vision through the veil of night, I'd volunteer to sneak around them and stab them in the back, but as it is, I suspect they will see or hear me long before I see them.

I agree we should head for the hill; we can light torches around the base of it to more easily spot our attackers, while we try to find some cover on the top."

OOC: The retreat-hide-retreat meaning we retreat, say 60-100 ft, some people hide while a few others continue with the light sources. When/If the ratmen come, we spring an attack at them.

Vargo has a brief internal monologue with himself. It is, after all, a habit of the wise.

Situation: Two mobile snipers, relatively immune to most of our attacks. Their main advantage is being able to move away from us without us being able to do anything back. However, since they are both carrying missile weapons, if we can close with them before they can switch weapons, we can surround them and cut them off, deny them their mobility, then finish them off.

"Rasereit! Juliana! Charge one and surround him, the rest of us will be right behind. Juliana, when the rest of us catch up and we're surrounding him, you grapple him while we assist. Rasereit, you smack him until he stops moving."

(OOC: Since this requires some rules-specific stuff, I'm putting it here. Everybody Runs towards one rat. Rats are both holding crossbows, so running next to one should not generate an AoO. Raserit, Juliana, and Huln should all move into a surrounding position on the wererat first, in case he can take an AoO, then everybody else shows up right afterwards. If the rat tries to move away, if we surrounded him properly, then we'll each get strikes on him as an AoO, with Huln going for the trip. Most everybody will "aid another" to try and give Rasereit a good solid hit. If he tries to fight, Juliana moves in for a grapple, and the rest of us use the "aid another" action for that nice little +2 to the grapple check. Once Juliana is in the grapple, the rest of us keep on with the aid another action to help her maintain it, and Rasereit wails on the rat with his waraxe.

That's the best I can come up with, unless somebody else has a better idea.)

(OOC: Well, <eriksgrandmaviolation>. Still, we have to break some eggs to get this rolling... Why not the ones with the good fort saves? :lol: )

OOC: I'm willing to try anything. I don't know what else to do. I don't know if anyone can even damage them, we're out of spells and PPs, and most of us are injued in some way. Got to try something. Maybe Lycanthropy isn't as bad is it sounds.... :)
