Charlarn of Phyrah: Male human cleric 1

"Thank you much for your information. I think we will leave the goblins and this city behind as soon as possible. I hope your fortunes improve." Tenebrynn says to the halfling. After the halfling has retired, he will look around the bar at some of the other patrons trying to decide who might be the best to try and ply for information next.
Seeing that Tenebrynn has finished with the halfling, Charlarn ambles over to him. "Did you find out anything important?"

Inn

As the group converses, and listens, the half orc who accompanied the rat-faced man comes down the stairs. (He left through the door labeled 'Privy'). Glancing at Charlyn somewhat nervously, he walks purposefully out the main door into the street.

Having found a new table, Nurlan again tries to strike up a conversation with the people there. "Excuse me, what drinks are good in this place? I'm new to town."

Nurlan notes the facial expression and thinks, I'll have to ask Charlarn what happened. That guy is definitely involved. If his present conversation falters, he'll go over to Charlarn to see what's up.

Nurlan has better luck this time. A couple well-dressed tradesmen reply.

"Oh, the dwarven ales are all good. The Ginus Portabello is worth a try. They put some sort of fermented mushroom in that."

"Have to develop a taste for that one though, eh?"

"No, no. I took to it right away, I did. Those dwarves sure know how to brew 'em."

Nurlan replies, "Thanks. Maybe next time I'll try it. Mushroom ale sounds interesting; I've never had that before. I guess you folks come here a lot?"

tradesmen

"No. First time, actually. You don't look like you're from around here either. Dwaven beer is a good bet anywhere in this area. The dwarves of the Abbas Aquas mountains, just north of here, are our biggest trading partners. And their beer is their best export."

"That would be their stonework, mate."

"I prefer their beer anyday!"

They both laugh.

"Anyway, ever since away back, when Nolan, founder of the Northrups, killed that Dragon which had been taking their loot, the dwarves have been this city's best friends."

"Ooooo and what a dragon it was. 'ave you seen its 'ead? It's in the audience chamber up at the castle. Good thing 'ees not still around."

Nurlan replies, "No, I'm not. I'm a musician, so I travel a lot. I also do a little security work -- I have a temporary job in this town as a security guard." He's thinking to himself, Don't press them. Tell them a little about myself and maybe they'll tell me a little more about themselves -- and then I can decide if they're worth asking more of, without appearing to be too inquisitive.

Replying to Charlarn, Tenebrynn says "A little, though nothing about Irene and Jezibel. The halfling thought that the goblins had support from someone as his group of goblin hunters had been attacked and most of them perished. He gave me maps and such, but I think we ought to just get the heck out of town as soon as possible."

Noticing the half-orc coming down from the stairs, Tenebrynn asks Charlarn, "Were you not talking to him? Anything come of that?"

Charlarn notes, "Hmm. That's interesting. Could I take a look at them? We need to find Irene before we make that decision, though."

"Yeah, I was. I took the direct approach and spooked him and the big-nosed man. But I thought he had left through the privy door. Why'd he come back in through the second floor? I would have followed them out, but I don't think it would have been safe."
