"Let's split up and see if we can find any information about Irene from those gathered here." Tenebrynn says approaching the halfling first to see if he is awake. Then he will spend his time looking for rumors and buying a few drinks to smooth out the way.

gather information: -1 ...this is gonna take a lot of money...
Charlarn goes over to the bartender. "Good afternoon, my good man. I was in here earlier looking for a pair of women. perhaps you have seen them?" The cleric slides a gold piece across the bar.

Barkeep

The half elven barkeep is looking more weary than he was this morning. He picks up the gold coin and taps it on the counter a few times, staring at it, seemingly lost in thought. He looks up & glances around, then pockets the coin. "Like I said before, I'll keep an eye out. I ain't seen anyone like that since you left. What you want with them anyway?"

Nurlan, meanwhile, has found himself a seat at a table, trying to chat up whatever patron he can while keeping an eye on the other activities. His first priority in picking a table will be to be able to watch Tenebrynn and the halfling inconspicuously, meaning without turning his head farther than a casual glance around the tavern would suggest. His second priority will be to be able to watch the large-nosed human inconspicuously, and his third will be to be able to watch Charlarn inconspicuously, if he can do that too without sacrificing priorities 1 and 2.

Once at the table, he says "hello" to the person next to him. If he gets a reply greeting, he continues with "Do you come here often?"

one eyed owl

The halfling opens both eyes and sighs at the elf. "Ah. No. We came 'ere seeking wealth and power. All we found was betreyal and death. Leave while you can, I say."

The tradesmen at Nurlan's table seem a bit put off by his arrival. They eye his suspiciously and turn back to their conversation. Nurlan is able to find a table that meets his specifications.

Charlarn pauses in surprise. All the stories he's heard tell of barkeeps with all sorts of information at their fingertips. :) Recovering quickly, he replies, "We were supposed to meet here. Thank you anyway."

With that, he decides to take the offensive, and strides over to the large-nosed man and half-orc. "Greetings. I saw you here earlier. My name is Cocer and I was wondering if you've seen a couple friends of mine? A young human woman and a young halfling woman." He watches for a reaction. (Sense Motive (untrained) +3)

Charlyn

The man's nose is someone pointed, and his squinty features make him resemble a large rat. At Charlyn's question, his jaw drops. "You...you...what do you know? You can't accuse me of anything. I don't have to talk to you."
He stands, spilling his drink. Come on, Knobs." He walks out the door labled "Privy". The half orc stands, scowling at Charlyn, and follows him.

Charlarn can't help but grin at their sudden retreat. "Well that was interesting," he mutters to himself. He goes back to the bar. "Could I have an ale, please?" Then he sits and nurses his drink, trying to eavesdrop on whatever conversation he can.

Tenebrynn considers for a moment before continuing, "So you have been here for long enough to get a taste of the city then eh? We are actually trying to get out of town, but one of our friends has gone missing. We need to find her first before we can leave."

tavern

Nurlan, from his vantage point, can see that outside the door labled Privy is some sort of courtyard.

The halfling raises his head as some excitement comes to his eyes. "The city? Do you think this city is bad? It's them goblins that's bad! We wuz out hunting for goblin ears when all my friends were killed. There's something behind them goblins! They're organized! Whatever you do, don't go hunting them! They're full of tricks!"
