(Adventure) M1: Goblin Ears and the MTG (dpdx judging) COMPLETED

Nurlan speaks more softly and uncertainly than usual. "Well then, shall we go ask around? Charlarn, you mentioned the town hall. Should we ask there? I'm not sure what business they'd have there, since our trophies were redeemed yesterday, but I don't know where else. Maybe check with the City Watch again. The same people who tried to frame us might have set Irene up too."

(OOC: I'll be away for about two weeks, starting this Friday. I'm not sure how often I'll be logging in then -- intermittently, but definitely not daily. Just a heads-up.)

"I just had an idea, not sure if its a good one or not. Listen we know that the guild knows who we are and who our companions are. We don't know how far their reach goes within the town as it apparently reaches up to the guard. Maybe we could try to enlist the help of some outsiders like us. They might not be watched as closely as we are by the guild. Wasn't there a guy in that tavern who had just arrived. Perhaps we could pay him to search for information." Offers, Tenebrynn, trailing off as he finishes realizing that his plan is kinda dumb.

"I think tonight we ought to stay here, continue to hunt, or at least wait. Perhaps Irene will show up this evening. However, if we must leave town for our own safety, maybe in a few days, we could return to Orussus and recruit another group to come investigate. Perhaps Kim would be wiling to hire them as security guards too. We would tell them the whole situation, about the pervasive influence of the Guild, warn them that they should trust nobody. I would feel much better about leaving here when Irene's fate in uncertain if I knew someone else was picking up the torch. After all, we won't be able to find Irene from inside a jail cell."

"Do you mean that halfling? The barman may also have said something if the man hadn't come out from his room. I don't want to wait here doing nothing."

OOC: posting frequency uncertain over the next two weeks. Don't wait too long for me -- feel free to autopilot Nurlan if I don't log in often enough. Assume that he goes along with any plan of action Charlarn and Tenebrynn agree on, unless I show up and say otherwise. In combat, he's likely to inspire courage if Charlarn hasn't already blessed us all, to ready his longspear for a charge if he has time, and to disarm if he has an opponent with a light weapon -- probably not as bold as last time, when he ignored his own opponent to disarm someone else's, since that didn't work too well.

"You may have a point there, perhaps we should give that place another more thurough look. Beats just sitting here and waiting for something to happen to us. We could let Mr. Tensil know of our plans just in case Irene comes back here to look for us." says Tenebrynn.

"That's sounds good, Tenebrynn. Let us go."

Back to the one-eyed owl

The group leaves a message with Botha as to their intentions, as Kim Tensil has left again.

They again head out through the bustling streets. At one point they get lost, but do eventually find their way back to the tavern. At that point it's about 2 pm. Entering the bar, they do see the leather-clad halfling still at the same barstool where they left him. In front of him are 5 empty mugs, each with an empty shot glass inside it. He has his head down on one arm. His other arm is on the counter, holding a 6th shot glass. A full mug of beer next to it.

The inn has filled up considerably since you left. About half the tables are occupied. Various laborers and merchants eat and drink. The tavern is full of various voices. Telebryn notices the short, large nosed human they had seen before at one of the tables, chatting softly with a half orc.

"Let's split up and see if we can find any information about Irene from those gathered here." Tenebrynn says approaching the halfling first to see if he is awake. Then he will spend his time looking for rumors and buying a few drinks to smooth out the way.

gather information: -1 ...this is gonna take a lot of money...
