(Adventure) M1: Goblin Ears and the MTG (dpdx judging) COMPLETED

Tenebrynn runs up to Nurlan and Irene, "Yeah we showed them." he says shaking his fist at the half-orc and ratman's backs. "Really though we need to get out of here. Are you alright? Can you walk?" he says to Irene.

Nurlan continues to move up to where Irene is, still inspiring courage. He planned to draw his mace (while keeping his torch in his off hand), but upon seeing the thugs run away, he stops singing and says,

"Irene? I'm so glad we found you! Are you OK? You look like you've had an even worse day than we did. Let's get you out of this place as fast as possible, and when we're safe at the warehouse you can tell us what happened."

"Except for Jezibel literally backstabbing me, being held in some small room for who-knows how long and my back is just about this close to killing me... I'm fine."
Irene holds two fingers a small distance away from eachother, showing she means the wound on her back was indeed close to killing her earlier.
"I could use some drink though, and maybe some food. Oh, and a hitman for Jezibel."
With that, Irene crawls up, away from the thugs. She yells after them:
"Tell that b*tch I won't rest until I have put her to rest!"

Nurlan gives a start. "Jezibel? After you saved her life? I had figured she wasn't quite what she was trying to appear, but I would have thought... anyway, let's save the details for later. I could probably carry you back to the warehouse on my, if Charlarn or Tenebrynn can take your pack and a little of my stuff, and we'd move quicker than your legs can manage in your state. I just want to get out of this place as fast as possible."

OOC: Nurlan can take an extra 30 lb and still have a medium weight. Irene weighs 29 lb not counting equipment.

Charlarn of Phyrah: Male human cleric 1

"Yes, we need to get out of the open. The warehouse sounds like a good idea."

Charlarn can carry about 10 pounds before he hits a heavy load. On the way back to the warehouse, he'll have his shield readied.

As the group hurries back to the warehouse, Charlarn ask Irene, "What happened to you? Was the attack by those thugs a set-up? We had a little run-in with the guild at the watch station."

"Told ya going to the officials was a bad thing. Slicing their throats would have saved us lots of trouble. As for the fight itself, I have no idea if it was a setup. I wouldn't be surprised if it was. What I think that's happening is that Jezibel is part of the Thieves Guild here, and they have something to do with those goblin raids. That would explain why Jezibel survived the goblin attacks when we found her."

Irene sighs while feeling her back. The wound is still hurting big time, so she takes her time talking.

"What happened to me... well, we went to the tavern, where at some point she spoke with this guy named Drauer, that's the guy you just scared away, and after that two of those orc-lads came in to give me some pounding. When I tried to take them down, Jezibel must have planted a dagger in my back or something, because I blacked out and when I woke up again I had this huge hole in my back. Anyway, I'd really prefer to rest a bit now, as you can imagine I'm pretty bad shape."

With that she closes her eyes, trying to get a little shuteye while being carried.

From her vantage point Irene can't see Nurlan's wry smile. I knew this was coming, he thinks. But this is no time for recriminations.

All he says is "Yeah, you know, they had witnesses who claimed to have seen us robbing our attackers. He's hoping she'll get the hint.

And Nurlan then lets the subject rest, until they are all back at the warehouse and in better condition to talk.

OOC: If we all get back to the warehouse, that is. We'll just have to wait for Manzanita to return to civilization to find out if we make it...

Back at the warehouse

The weary party trudges back to the warehouse as night falls. The trip takes a bit longer, carrying Irene & her equipment, than it did to get to the Inn. The journey is uneventful except for a few odd stares at Nurlan's unusual load.

It is quite dark by the time the group reaches the warehouse. Despite their weary limbs and anxious minds, the sky is clear and displays beautiful vault of stars. The air is clean and brings the faint smell of the salty ocean, just beyond the city walls.

The party's approach leads them to the entry door of the warehouse, around the corner from the larger door used by wagons. Last night, two guards had stood along this street all night, keeping watch. Tonight, there is no one.

"This doesn't look good to me" Irene says, noticing the lack of guards. "Maybe Jezibel and her goons got here before we did, as she knew we stayed her. Maybe she's trying to ambush us here once again. And I'm not really in any condition to fight at this point..."
