The gnomes might be a good place to start, says Alnar turning to the party. They might be able to help us with finding the warlock, even if they did not have anything to do with this.Matjala translates Alnar's descriptions to the elderly shaman. Doing so provokes another argument between the two Djaapana men. At its conclusion Matjala shakes his head and says to your party, "Yaka, no one like that among Djaapana people. And Gepu say," Matjala pauses and sighs his impatience at conveying the old man's suspicions, "him say gnomes only ones we know about with 'arcane magic.' You got questions about it, probably best asking them. Also, no stranger come visiting recently only Fizzenden for trade and some Rripangu men for fishing since last moon cycle."
Matjala speaking: "Fizzenden him gnome leader, like. He come down here for mother of pearl. Trade with us, give us medicine and potion, help fix broken things. Him not have grudge against us..."
[/sblock]"Name is Botj, yaka old man. I not so old. Still throw a pretty good spear, and the Dreaming is strong with me, eh? That's how I talk to you now. Through the Dream, what you call it?... Astral projection?"
"Dunno know exactly what we dealin' with yet. See my people, the Rripangu, we live on this island Kythira, and we been havin hard times this year, for true. Big drought, all the animals, the little ancestors, been scarce. Hard to hunt, hard to eat. One old man, Dhakanmirr, thought he got it figured out. Him thought he fixed the problem, but I not so sure. Times still hard, and I just learn something put a big worry in me."
Slightly nonplussed, Matjala answers, "Fizzenden is gnome leader. Rripangu is Botj's clan, remember?"
