[Adventure] Murder Most Foul! (Judge: EvolutionKB)

Tirial will wait calmly away from the doorway, nervous for what may lay beyond after facing the dangers of this area.

With nobody dissenting, Boruuk pulls the first of the bolts. It is a difficult pull, but not beyond his abilities. It doesn't take long before the bolt finally pulls free with a loud KACHUNK sound that echoes in the small area. He then pulls the other bolt which also makes a loud noise. The bar slides easily.

As he carefully opens the door, Boruuk sees a tunnel beyond it leading to the right and left. The tunnel is only 4 foot wide and 6 foot tall, Boruuk has to slouch a little to walk into it.

The group notices that the stone door that they came through is totally inconspicuous from the tunnel side if it were closed. However, with no handles, bolts or bars on the tunnel side, the door does not close all of the way.

The tunnel appears to be the same as far as the group can see in both directions and they do not see or hear anything else.

dimsdale, what brightness do you have on the Floating Lantern: bright (10-square radius) or dim (5-square radius)?

I pulled the description of DDI. There is no mention of the light brightness, only that Knoepf can move it up to 10 squares. It says that the source for this item is the Adventure's Vault. I don't have that.

How about for this adventure you decide the brightness? :)

Please pick the brightness.

Floating Lantern
This silver lantern floats in midair under your control.

Level: 3
Price: 680 gp
Wondrous Item

Property: This lantern never needs lighting or refilling. When you let go of the lantern, it continues to hang in the air where you leave it. If weight in excess of 1 pound is applied to the lantern, it falls to the ground.

Power (At-Will): Minor Action. While you hold the floating lantern or are adjacent to it, you can set its light to be bright (10-square radius), dim (5-square radius), or off.
Power (At-Will): Move Action. The last creature to hold the lantern can mentally command it to move up to 10 squares in any direction, but not more than 10 squares from it.
First published in Adventurer's Vault.

"Hmmmm, what do you guys think, right or left? I ain't much for directions, maybe you know something Knoepf? Dwarves spend time underground right? This should be in your blood" Boruuk comments.

Tirial licks her finger and holds it up in the air in front of each tunnel entrance, hoping to catch a faint trace of wind that may point to an exit.

"Er...hmmmmf...what...Oh! yes Boruuk. I'm sorry. My was distracted and not thinking clearly," says Knoepf, still recuperating from the last encounter. Knoepf scans the passageway in both directions.

I assume by this that you mean that Tirial is doing a Take 10 Perception, not a Passive Perception (passive skill checks are the purview of the DM). You do not want to roll the dice. Correct?
