Adventure Path end levels

So, I'm thinking of running an AP, and I'd like to know what level the players should be when they reach the end.

Specifically, I am considering The Curse of the Crimson Throne, Kingmaker, or Serpent's Skull.

I believe that each AP presumes a full arc in a character's development, from Level 1 at the start of the first module in the AP all the way up to Level 20 by the end of the sixth module.

New Question about AP...

That's what I suspected.

My group played the proto-adventure path, Shackled City, but that was 12 modules. I wasn't sure if the 6 module APs did the same. I was further confused by the adventure blurbs that said the final module included suggestions on how to continue adventuring, and I didn't know if that meant taking characters into Epic Levels or if it just meant other characters running around in the same area.

Here's a new question: How difficult would it be to mash-up an AP with a homebrew? You know, change the deities, change some neighboring kingdoms, etc.

Curse of the Crimson Throne ends around 16/17: http://paizo.com/pathfinder/adventurePath/curseOfTheCrimsonThrone/v5748btpy84el

Serpent's Skull ends around 17 also: http://paizo.com/pathfinder/adventurePath/theSerpentsSkull/v5748btpy8g3i

ps. The old Dungeon Magazine APs were 1 to 20, but the Pathfinder APs are less.

None of the Pathfinder AP's go all the way to 20th level - most presume a stopping point somewhere from 15th to 17th level.

Shows what I know. Actually, I'm really glad you asked this question, because I now get to consider what happens after the AP I'm running. Thanks!

No problem!

What brought on the question was I noticed that the little blurb describing the final module of several APs mentioned suggestions for continuing adventures based on the events of the AP, and I wasn't sure if that meant into epic levels, or in the aftermath but with new, low-level PCs, or if there was still room in the standard levels to keep going.

Looks like there is room in the standard levels.

Do epic levels even exist in the Pathfinder rules?

Kingmaker ends around 17th level or so, but they do specifically include an article of what to do next, for levels 18 and above, up to and including (major post-Kingmaker spoiler, players DO NOT READ!)
the return of Brevoy's founder, Choral the Conquerer, who was apparently an Advanced Great Wyrm Red Dragon in disguise the whole time.
