(Adventure) Rivenblight's Castaway [Creamsteak judging]

Ioleta leaps, yelping, at the sound of Tylkin's voice. She shrugs the pack on her shoulders as she regains her composure, "I'm sure he's not napping, Tylkin. He's probably just waiting for us up ahead." She looks hopeful, blue eyes bright and wide.

I hope he's up ahead.

She trots ahead with a creaking of pack straps, breath short and anxious, "Can you find him, you know, with your magic." She waves her hands in an mimicry of casting. She looks scared.

Velbrik shakes his head. "I can't. I only know a few stage-worthy tricks and a bit of healing magic. I will say, however, that I've been working with Troi for a while now, and he's certainly quite competent. I don't think he'll get himself into more trouble than he can handle."

"Ya wanna play that game?" Troi yells back. He quickly considers his predicament... and decides that discretion is, perhaps, the better part of valor.

Scooping up his bow as he goes, he dashes to the tree he was hidden behind before, attempting to take as much cover as possible from the two bandits.

Move action to get behind the previous tree.

Jaan keeps his worries to himself. He's never worked with Trio before, but instinctively liked him that day they met in the Red Dragon. But three hours is a long time. But there is not a great deal that they can do about it at this point. Splitting up or trying to backtrack would just make things more chaotic.

"He'll know where to find us so long as we keep moving along.

"I'm just worried that he's found and captured all of the bandits himself. Glory boy that he is, an all that." The last remark is present with the best easy grin that Jaan can muster.

GnomeWorks, slight miscommunication. The tree on the other side of the clearing is a run action away- to get there, you'll have to leave your bow behind, I'm afraid.

Tylkin frowns slightly at the vaguely ominous talk, and says "It'll be another three hours or so to the forest's edge."

As the cart and group move forward Ioleta hovers nearer and nearer Jaan and Velbrik, muttering apologies as she bumps into them. She starts at every sound before catching herself and taking deep soothing breaths.

Why am I here again? Oh. The monks.

She swallows tightly, clearing her throat and licking her lips as her head swings from side to side. "Phyrah's flying fanny! Where. Is. Troi?" Her voice is strained. And her ears as she listens with every fiber of her body for sounds of the ornery woodsman or bandits.

"If I leave th' bow, I'm not gonna have another one soon..." Troi whispers quickly.

"Damn it!" He clears his mind, preparing for the dash across the clearing.

Leave the bow. Go for the tree.

Jaan starts at Ioteta's outburst. Its as much the language as anything else. He wonders where she picked it up. Actually, he wonders where she has come from, who she is and why she is with them now.

Probably for the same reason I am, he concludes.

He wets his lips to say something but nothing comes out. Words, or at least useful ones, won't come to mind.

"Troi knows what he is doing. Better than most of us would be my guess. He will be all right."

..or he won't. Either way, there is nothing we can do about it right now.

Troi leaves his bow behind and sprints again for the relative saftey of the opposite treeline, coming heartstoppingly close to tripping over the first tripwire (he stumbles, but does not fall). He easily hops over the second and comes, panting, to a halt behind the tree. Both his leg and his side ache.

Forgot to tell you- the salve healed 4 points, bringing you up to 6.

"I think I've had enough a this game today." Troi says as he catches his breath. "If I can get th' rest a th' group, we can do this proper..."

With that, he dashes for the trail, stopping behind a large tree if he can't reach it.
