[Adventure]: Shards of Eldanarth (DM: MadAzolin, Judge: ??)

As the screech echoes through the woods, the mandible in warlocks hand glows blood red. The beasts twitch and move as he points with his rod and he disappears in a swirling vortex of sudden dust devil raising leaves around him. He reappears as the leaf storms dies down a little bit closer to two owlbears. He runs toward them and concentrates. Only after your eyes followed his run, you realize that he is also in the place he started from and both of them look slightly transparent.

The wave of something pulses from warlocks shadow, something that even from the distance crosses observers eyes for the moment. Owlbears show stronger reaction, their feathers drooping and eyes rolling in their sockets while crown of flames still dances around their heads.

Standard: All the sands, all the stars vs H2 Will; MadOwl Will; psychic damage; curse (1d20+12+2=32, 1d20+12+2=29, 2d6+8=13, 1d6=6) - hits both MadOwl for 13, H2 for 22 (13 base + 6 curse +1 from CA /talon amulet/ +2 from Jade aura) - both are dazed TENT

OOC: I would like to know the attack rolls, its hard otherwise to be able to use Shield and alchemist's escape. I would have used alchemist escape to avoid the first attack, and shield to dodge this one, if its reflex based.

OOC: You can use only one immediate action in the round...unless one of those is free, you can avoid only one.
 

OOC: One would happened on the last round, and this is a reaction to a reaction occurring on this round, so that's one per round alright.

well, entire idea behind DM handling reactions is to avoid rollback of turns due to PCs ;
it is why I require PCs to post potential interrupts / reactions (for examples see Lilli or Kane's interrupts / reactions miniblocks).
While this might seem bit strict, it is in everyone's best interest to minimize potential mess - for example situation in which PC A
uses reaction to monster attack, then PC B uses other reaction and PC C uses third one and two others post regular actions in meanwhile
will result in well... situation in which no one will know what exactly happened and when; therefore requirements for up-front announcements for
reaction / interrupt powers.

Also keep in mind that strictly speaking, PCs never know NPC dice rolls (or other PC dice rolls for that matter), so also strictly speaking,
you cannot say 'I will use shield if attack hits me, but misses me due to shield spell', best you can do is say 'I use shield if hit';
-> I will NOT be enforcing this, therefore it is perfectly legal to say 'I am using shield if it would cause attack to miss'

As for NPC dice rolls, I am generally not posting NPC dice rolls for whole set of reasons; if everyone wants NPC dice rolls posted, I can do it, but in practice, it is in everyone's best interest not to do so.

While as a rule I treat 'no interrupt block posted => you don't use any (except for auto-stuff such as attacks of opportunity)', I will make an exception for this specific case; if you want to use any interrupts to rollback attacks that hit you last round, I will allow it, but please keep to convention of announcing possible interrupts beforehand and DM-resolution of these in the future

- melee attacks hit AC 32 and AC 31 (hit: 13 damage, hit: 14 damage); screech is Fort targeted attack, hit Fort 26 (hit: stun, save ends);

Cyr moves closer this time, counting on his spell to protect him from the attack of the beasts.

Blades of astral fire spin around owlbears, cutting into wounded one deeply while barely paring few feathers of the smaller one. The blades however spin around Cyr, Vermitrax and Jade, blocking and cutting off potential routes of attack.

Immediates: if anyone gets hit, Cyr uses immediate reaction Preservers rebuke UNLESS he gets hit by an attack in which case he interrupts with miraculous fortune and (regardless of which one triggers) Lerrick gets slid again to O12

Hooting, Owlbear hunter rises from the ground. It takes quick glance toward prey and charges toward Kane, drawn by his magic. Clash of talons against steel echo the forest as Kane deflects monster's furious swipe. However, attack was more powerful then he anticipated and managed to throw him slightly off balance. Unable to bring blade about for parry quickly enough, Kane rises his magical barrier in attempt to deflect incoming talon, but monster's attack cleaves through magical defense without any pause, tearing into swordmage. However, before the talon reaches Kane, his sword and hands shine in magical energy and defensive barrier forms, slowing monster's swipe. Creature manages to cleave through the defense and through silvery radiance surrounding swordmage, but its strike is greatly diminished.
Furious hoot follows monster's attacks, attempting to wreck minds of Kane, Martelai and Lerrick and this time, silvery glow around Kane seems to prevent any harm.

Seeing Kane under attack, Cyr rises his hands and channels, drawing power form fury of owlbear's attack.

- Kane, Martelai and Lerrick take 5 psychic damage from monster's aura. Moment of glory prevents 5 damage to Kane [total = 0]

- Cyr's Preservers' rebuke is triggered
