[Adventure] The Cannith Caper (Judge: THB)

Vistrathis wades through the many wild swings of the hobgoblin's glaive and stands upon the bloodrock. Feeling the surface of the arcane material making his blood boil, he swings his sword at his foe, reciting mystical words of thunderous power.

[sblock=Actions]

- Move: Move to BM-13, next to G, and in the area of the bloodrock, flanking G with Alex. Vistrathis has moved within G's aura, so he takes 5 damage.

- Standard: Booming Blade vs G; Vistrathis rolls 20 vs AC for 15 damage. If this hits (I doubt it, but eh whatevah, can't complain with all the crits I've been throwing around ^_^), and if G is adjacent to Vistrathis at the start of its next turn and moves away during that turn, it takes 5 thunder damage. If the target attacks Vistrathis before the start of his next turn, it takes another 5 damage.

- Minor: Vistrathis will place his Aegis of Shielding on S 34. This removes the Aegis from G.

--- Immediate Actions ---

1) Since all he's got left is his Aegis, Vistrathis will use an immediate interrupt if/when S 34 attacks one of his allies with an attack that does not also include Vistrathis as a target. This will reduce the damage of S 34's attack by 9 (nine). [/sblock]

Varak slashes his blade at the scimitar wielder, but slips in some blood and doesn't come close.

Harresh changes tactics and spits a fat iceball in a high arc. It lands behind the scimitar wielder and explodes in a cloud of razor sharp fragments. They cut and slice the enemy painfully, the hobgoblin screaming in pain as the ice rends him apart. The dragonborn retains his position, wary of the glaive wielder's reach.

This kills s34[/sblock]

Haltor sits up on the saddle, wiping the blood from his mouth, barely visible under his hunt mask. Looking down at the deep cut in his side, he spits and thumps his chest. That's the best you can do, honorless worm? Many better than you have tried to cut me down. But we shall not fall so easily. He twirls his sharrash in the air and then leans heavily into a thrust, cutting the gob deeply but leaving himself seemingly open to attack. The opening doesn't matter as the halfling's weapon finishes the glaive wielder.

You hear some muffled struggling from the caves ahead[/sblock]

Oh, BTW feel free to take short rests back to back to utilize Haltors' healing inspiring words if you spend any HS's[/sblock]

Haltor's death mask leers at the dying face of the glaive-weilder. As it slumps to the floor, the halfling spins and deftly stows his weapon while dismounting.

Lifting his mask, Haltor's ruddy face is even redder from exertion. He tends after White Eye's wounds, ignoring his own for a moment. As the others gather to rest, a rueful smile breaks out. Well, that worked. Maybe too well. Reminds me of the Battle of the Four Rivers... He continues to speak of another barely successful raid against overwhelming numbers of goblinoid forces, keeping spirits up.[sblock=Healing]Inspiring Words for Everybody! But White Eye first: 11+3. Perception (1d20+1=13)

"Well fought, friends," Harressh says. "That one with the polearm was pretty tough. Vistrathis, your sword-and-magic technique was quite impressive. I think I will learn from watching you..."

[sblock=ooc]Harressh will spend one surge to get back up to full HP. No need for any healing help.[/sblock]

Vistrathis grins at the compliment, wiping his sword off on the shirt of one of the fallen hobgoblins and making a big production out of sheathing his blade.

"When I fight, I like to punish my enemies no matter what they do. If they go after a friend of mine, I try to make my enemy's attack useless, or better yet, use that attack against one of their own. If my enemy goes after me, I try to make sure that they will regret it by placing elemental shields around me that harm them for attacking me. It's a win-win situation and the only way I like to fight. It may seem unfair, but fighting on even terms is for those who aren't intelligent enough to think even one step ahead of their enemies."

Varak wipes his bloody blades and the clothes of the hobgoblin and searches their bodies for anything valuable. "Good fight..."The half-orc cocks his head to the side, and whispers, "There is something else up there..."
