[Adventure] The Cannith Caper (Judge: THB)

"Vistrathis! Haltor! Clear out of the way if you can!" Harressh calls out.

[sblock=ooc]I'd like to use a blast 3, or a burst 1, if the other PCs can move out of the way...[/sblock]

Haltor nods at Harresh's request but first focuses on the larger 'forged, lunging forward heavily in his saddle with this sharrash. He smacks it once on the construct's head before cutting it open. As the construct's attention is drawn away, Haltor quickly glances at Vist, signaling him to be ready. He then dances away.[sblock=OOC]Brash Assault vs LWF49. Feeling the stinging of his wounds, Vistrathis only has time to mutter a response back to the dragonborn before going back to the job of keeping three foes occupied.

"Sorry Harressh! Busy! Do what you must!"

Vistrathis moves about and parries a few weak thrusts from the warforged, deflecting them with the invisible force shield that he projects from his off hand. Seeing a possible opening, the swordmage swings his blade in a wide arc all around him.

"Vi es'shur fash de'an tu!"

- Standard: Sword of Sigils vs Small WF, WF 49, and WF 79 (in that order) (Targets AC). Vistrathis rolls 22 against Small WF, 14 against WF 29, and 17 against WF 79. Against any that are hit, they take 9 damage and will take another 5 force damage if they attack any of Vistrathis' allies before the end of Vistrathis' next turn.

[sblock=Note to R1] My work seems to be having some internet connection issues, and it caused me to roll on IC a bunch of times. I went back in and made sure to only count the first set of rolls that were made, even though one of the others had a crit in it ;) Just wanted you to know in case you saw the rolls in IC [/sblock]

---- Immediate Interrupts ----

Vistrathis will use Dimensional Vortex against the first enemy who makes a melee attack against one of Vistrathis' allies.

[sblock=Harressh] Feel free to place Vistrathis in your attack's blast area. [/sblock]

Light and heat leak from Harressh's scales, scorching the nearby small warforged. "All right, then," Harressh growls, stepping back and opening his jaws. A roar of sound emerges, but it seems muted, perhaps because of arcane feedback from the still-sparking machine. Shaking his head, the dragonborn tilts his neck back and breathes out a barrage of stubby, sharp ice projectiles which blanket the area around the small warforged and the one that was attacking Varis. But again the spell is a feeble one which the warforged are able to easily fend off. Harressh curses loudly.

Aura (no action): Small WF takes 4 fire and radiant.
Move: Shift to AM46.
Standard: Thundering Roar vs. Small WF, Large WF 49, WF 79, Vistrathis (1d20+8=16, 1d20+8=18, 1d20+8=10, 1d20+8=11, 2d6+11=21) Well there's a bunch of crappy rolls. At least Vistrathis is missed for sure. Maybe the first two have a chance... it's vs. Fortitude, 21 thunder damage and -2 to attack rolls TENT if a hit.
Action Point: (I hope I have the positions right after Varis moved LWF20, I think burst at AP46 hits two of them): 1d20+9=13, 1d20+9=10, 2d8+11=23 Gah, worthless. :([/sblock]

As the large warforged steps by him and opens himself to attack, the half-orc slashes out with his sword, cutting the creature's bicep and helping thwart it's attack.

Varak steps around his dragonborn ally and past the little warforged, drawing it's attack, finally into a flank with the enemy that just escaped him. Slashing at the creature's back, Varak doesn't even look to see if his blow hurts the creature before rolling back and slashing at the little one, then spinning and cutting a third.

"Maybe, but first you have to get me!" Varis mocks the construct, his magic blade attach causing it to stumble backwards as the bard reaches his allies.

[sblock=WD]
That's fine to switch to War Song Strike. Also, I put you as close to AL47 as I could. There's some Difficult Terrain in the way at AN45 (hard to see I know) [/sblock]

As the construct's attention is drawn away, Haltor quickly glances at Vist, signaling him to be ready. He then dances away. The warforged tries to swing at the shift halfling, but Haltor dodges it, however Vistrathis fails to capitalize on the opening.

But again the spell is a feeble one which the warforged are able to easily fend off. Harressh curses loudly.

"These units have proven to be adept at overcoming elemental extremes. Moving on to physical assault mode, we have our target" the large warforged in the corner says, turning its sights on Vistrathis.

The unit charges at the githyanki, but he parries the blow, however a massive assault from behind slams Vistrathis in the back of the head, and the warforged's blow carried into Varak.

The smaller warforged feints one way and sends Vistrathis off balance, then it suddenly shifts its weight and gives him an uppercut to the jaw, sending him spinning to the ground. The smaller forged says "This unit has neutralized one threat, moving onto test subject number two" as it moves next to Harresh and Varis.

WF49 uses Sweeping Sweep - vs ac;dmg (1d20+10=30, 1d8+6=9) crits Vist for 14 and knocks prone. Varak takes 4 damage from the follow-through (it's like Cleave)

Everyone goes first. Would you guys prefer a more free-formed Initiative style? I.e. the common Mal's Rules method. I'm indifferent. Regardless you all go first.

Terrain: Rubble on the floor is difficult terrain

Haltor; Vist, Alex, Harresh, Varak, enemies (1d20+6=17, 1d20+6=10, 1d20+4=21, 1d20+4=23, 1d20+8=24, 1d20+5=10) <- I rolled for Alex instead of Varis, still go first[/sblock]

Seeing Vist fall, Haltor yells, Get up, Gith! You've seen worse on the Plains. These aren't even put together right! Kicking White Eye, he dashes around Varak and at the larger 'forged. His blade sticks deep in the construct's leg, and as the halfling twists, it is thrown to the floor! [sblock=OOC]Inspire Vist for HS+1d6. Move to AO52. With his ally conscious again, Varak steps next to the large warforged and slashes out with his blade, as his attention is elsewhere. The wound is minor, but it catches him off guard and the warforged stumbes away. Seeing an opening, Varak circles around the creature and stabs it again, before it can defend itself. As the halforc pulls the blade out of it, he stabs with the blade in his off hand, at it's companion.

Harressh's scales flash even brighter and hotter as he roars, "TEST SUBJECT? I AM NOT YOUR TEST SUBJECT!" A quick blast of frost follows the end of his cry, driving him back a step, then the frost becomes mixed with flaming meteors that impact harmlessly around the warforged, creating a small field of blazing flames.

[sblock=ooc]That really pushes Harressh's angry button! Too bad he pretty much shot his wad last round, and can't change his phase at will, that would be dramatic.

Also, too bad I cannot roll above a 10 to save my life.[/sblock]

Aura (free): 4 fire/radiant damage to SWF.
Minor: Dragon Breath vs SWF, LWF20 (1d20+8=18, 1d20+8=24, 1d6+1=2) vs reflex... one hit at least, but minimum damage. yuck

Well blazing starfall still makes a burst one zone around AO46 that lasts until the end of Harressh's next turn. Whenever an enemy leaves it, that enemy takes 4 fire damage.[/sblock]

Waking up on the floor is never a pleasant surprise. Especially while in the middle of a battle. Drifting into consciousness, the gith hears his companions words and steels himself to the pain he is feeling.

Get off of the floor, you weakling! How can you protect them if you're flat on your back!?

[sblock=ooc] Vistrathis heals for HS + 1 (ick... minimum); This puts Vistrathis at 13 HP. Thanks Haltor!! [/sblock]
