[Adventure] The Darkest Night (DM: johnmeier1, Judge: Ozymandias79)

Saraz stops cold in her tracks at seeing the ocean, and edges back from the water.

"Where's the other shore, why can't I see the other bank?"

"Ah, that lassie is the Shifting Seas, Murphy's home, I spent the better part o' me life sailing it and I can tell ya it ain't no easy place ta be raised. Stick by me and ya'll be fine." the human says, placing his arm around the young girl and giving her a squeeze

"Ship? Boat?!"

Tonk gulps.

As the party gets closer to the ship, Tonk grows visibly ill and agitated.

"Ah I s'pose the same goes fer ya to Punch Brother, I kin look after ya too" grabbing Tonk with his other arm

Some pushed and others pushing, the party arrives at the Perola Negra.

Docked close in to port, she seems smaller than most of the merchant vessels. A narrow plank allows access from the pier from the dock. Charles walks unsteadily up onto the ship. There are half a dozen sailors moving about busily, but not anyone else or much cargo. Down a short stair from the aft deck comes a short, wiry man with a quick smile and clothes that seem a combination of a sailor and a court jester. Bright colors and bells adorn his sailing clothes.

Ah, Chucky my good man. Are these my lucky passengers? he says as he scans the group.

Murphy walks up and down the pier, his eyes scanning the boat with an appraising eye as he takes it in from bow to stern, before he moves to step on it.

"'Ello there." Murphy calls, seemingly satisfied with his inspection, "A mighty fine ship ya have here, whatcha be callin' her? I be Murphy Tang, longtime friend a' the high seas, I be missin' her and it warms me heart ta be able to feel the fresh sea air on me face." Murphy says, walking easily across the plank

Tonk steels himself and steps onboard. The ship lurches in the docks as an oar-driven galley passes by, and Tonk grabs his stomach and cover his mouth.

"Okay. Okay. Go! Go! More soon go, more soon done!"

"Well, I supposed that I am indeed on an island and thus I suppose I will have to travel on some ship in order to return home, I had hoped it would be something, well, safer."

"What? Ya be thinkin' this ain't safe? Well I guess it ain't, but neither is Daunton. I knew a lad, not much older than you, you got shived he did, just so some bloke could be takin' a fancy new pair o' boots the lads dad bought fer'im. Just remember that, lassie, trouble's everywhere." Murphy warns.

Tonk, despite his nausea, giggles and elbows Murphy in the ribs. "Ooooh! You like Talkie Girl! You all quiet-quiet and mystery, but Talkie Girl show up and you talk-talk-talk, and use funny word, too! Hee-hee! You marry and make the Talkie Shadow Baby. Hee!"

She's the Perola Negra Captain Passerine says, sweeping off his hat and gesturing from bow to stern. The fastest ship in the Transitive Isles. And if the coin is good he winks at Charles then we'll get you there before you even know we've left. Wimmy! he shouts and up from below decks comes the roughest looking elf you have ever seen. He is wearing a sailors uniform and has unkempt long hair tied back under a black bandana. This "Wimmy" strides past you without even a glance, and heads up the deck towards the wheel. He begins to shout and the sailors redouble their speed and effort.

We'll be leaving.... NOW! he nods at Shorrin as you insist. He turns to Charles and shoos him down towards the docks It's time for all those who're not going to Allaria to step off.

The ship shortly casts off anchor and heads into the seas. The rough waters cause some discomfort on those without sealegs, but the Captain offers his quarters as a place to sit in comfort below decks. In fact he seems to pay no attention to the workings of the ship, only nodding at Wimmy before leading you down. There are two stairs down and only four rooms: the captains cabin, two rooms with lodgings for four passengers each, and the mess/kitchen. The few other areas of the small ship must be for cargo.

Captain Passerine offers a stiff drink called Leche de Tigre to you along with a chair at his table. After a few rounds he whips out a deck of cards seems to offer a game of chance to pass the time.

[sblock=OOC] The journey takes 10 days, but not much will happen other than sailing, drinking, and perhaps some games of cards. Some of your time gold comes from winning as the Captain seems to be pretty lousy at the game he runs. I will post more Monday, so feel free to use the weekend to describe how you pass the time of the voyage [/sblock]

Hi all, sorry about my absence but I have been very sick, 2 weeks in bed and have not really had the desire to sit in front of a computer. Janus is available if you will have him. If so he can be found hiding in the crows nest.
