(Adventure) The Monestary of Saint Feragon <Judge:Macbeth>

Telerin patted Whitefang on the head as he looked in to see what Aranel was doing. Quietly he said, "These were monks...they aren't rich," he grinned a bit and looked to the other rooms, "I think that if there is anything close they would have come after us by now. That wasn't exactly a quiet entrance we made..."

"B'that weren't the last o' the monks, either, Telerin. We canna be too careful," Rurik replies to the druid. "It ain't so much the loot I'm int'rested in, but some clue as to what happened here."

Sturm snorts. "Care 'bout yer speakin', 'r next thing ye know the elf's gonna take ye by word an' take yer share fer 'er elfy self."

Sturm chuckles to himself, casting a cautious look over at Aranel, to make sure she was out of earshot.

A quick search of the Monk's Chambers reveals that they indeed lived a life free of material things. There are a few musical instruments, as well as weapons (several daggers, a few staves and pairs of fighting sticks as well as 2 very fine hand axes. Closer inspection <I rolled a '20' for Appraisal> shows these to be of particularly good craftsmanship, Elvish work, with the Mark Dyallin of Rivenblight. Both Sturm and Rurik have heard of the Elven Smith, whose name is known to the dwarves as a maker of sturdy and durable weapons.
<The 2 hand axes are masterworked, obviously>.

In the hall, Whitefang begins to growl in a low tone, facing the western passage, and Sir ishmael senses something Evil coming quickly.
there seems to be something about to round the corner towards you...

Ishmael, telerin and Whitefang, as well as kirin are in the hall, Rurik and Sturm are in the doorway and Aranel is in the room.

<Any pre Initiative sort of actions, spells etc?

"Maybe poor, but they still often wear good amulets and cloaks." She called back, picking up the axes to give to the dwarves. They'd all gone quiet and she guessed that meant there was trouble coming...

Sir Ishmael moves to the front, shield and hammer in his hands.

"Evil doth approach and so with quickening speed" he says in a quiet voice, using his shield to make sure that only his allies recieve his words.

[So we're using Maker's Mark, eh? That's straight out of HOHF: Dwarves. Sweet!]

Rurik puts the fine handaxe in his belt, and after Sir Ishmael's warning, readies his waraxe and moves with him to cover the entrance to the room.

"C'mere, Sturm - dun want ya be missin' out again," Rurik says with a wink.

.

OoC:The only Maker's Mark I am familiar with is a fine Whiskey...I was not including some rule or factor from a D20 supplement, but feel free to let me know what you are talking about in more detail. I don't own HOHF:Dwarves, btw...
