The alter itself is very old, a lot older than the rest of the shrine, its design is neither Allarian nor Imperial, but bears iconography that suggests it was built by peoples from the savage lands long before Daunton was even an outpost of the now fallen Allarian Empire.
Although from the looks of it, it has not been consecrated in many many years it contains power still, a prayer dedicated to Maros made in supplication at this alter will bestow luck in battle upon the worthy.

OOC: pray as a standard action to receive +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls, sustain minor.

Slowly, the recovering minotaur opens his eyes. Filled with confusion he looks up at Skalisss,
"Who are you?" He asks the dragonborn, "What happened to me?" The gladiator looks over to his fellows, still withered and unconscious and memory rushes back to him, the minotaur growls deeply and tries to stand. "Are you responsible for this deception?!"

"No, my friend."
responds Skalisss. "Mr. Pinch hired usss to find you, and I'm glad we did for we were able to free you from your captorsss." Turning to his allies, Skalisss asks: "Mikara, what did the lassst one tell you?."

Mikara turns to Skalisss at the mention of her name.

"Basically, that these guys are just minions to a much larger foe. Thomas here," she says, pointing over to the dead man's body, "has a brother named Kyvan and their gangs were taken over by another gang. They've all been grouped together by force and it seems that the gangs are afraid of whoever took them over. One of these gangs was run by a gnoll named Hyann, a worthless thug from the Laughing Gallows if you ask me, but a vicious gang leader none-the-less. The only name I could get out of Sleepy, here, is "The Lord", and if Hyann is afraid of him, he must be pretty powerful. It doesn't seem to have anything specific to do with Mr. Pinch or his Gladiators other than the fact that they were in the wrong place at the right time."

Mikara walks over to Thomas's body and toes it with her boot. "Look at this guy, Skalisss. When I took him down, he was as brawny as you are. Now he's a string bean. What do you think caused this? Brother Shane... was Thomas poisoned or diseased?"

The conscious minotaur listens intently to Mikara as he looks each of you up and down with appraising eyes, after the drow has finished relaying what she learnt from the bandit he seems to come to a decision: to trust the adventurers.

He once more tries to stand, this time begging Skalisss' arm to help him up, the affliction obviously still having some lingering effect.
Once stood upright (if somewhat unsteadily), the massive bovine warrior looks again to his companions; still prostrated on the floor, then back to Skalisss.

"Can you make them better, like you did me? They may not look it, but they are in pain; trust me, it hurts just to breathe with their bodies like that..." The gladiator grimaces at the memory, "...such deception, and blasphemy must be avenged!" he growls under his breath.

"If that one" Andrec gestures at Thomas' body, "was as strong as you say, it would seem that his brother isn't your only worry." Turning to look at the prone Gladiators, he adds, "there are likely three more as strong and healthy as Thomas was. Though whether this 'Lord,' is one of them, or another threat after, remains to be seen."

At the mention of there being three more like Thomas, Mikara lets out an aggravated sigh. Mikara looks at each member of the group in turn.

"You mean we have to go out TODAY, find all of these strength stealing bastards, KILL them, and then try to get these gladiators back to Mr. Pinch before tomorrow morning!? Grrr... I though we only signed up to get these guys back there so that they are there before their fight. Did Mr. Pinch say anything about them having to be in a fighting condition?"

"Given the unusual circumstances, I'm sure Mr. Pinch will be glad to get his employees back at all. There is nothing we can do about their condition at this point. Don't focus on the end goal, focus on the current task. What's next is finding this brother, right?"

After listening closely Skalisss responds to the Gladiator first: "We can try to tend to your friendsss, although I'm not sssure we had much to do with your sssudden recovery. It may have been the Alter and your connection with your god. Brother Ssshane, Andrec, can you mussster your healing powersss for our new friendsss pleassse?"

"Now, you and I will pray at the Alter."
Skalisss kneels down and prays to both Maros and Netari to ease the suffering of these brave warriors.

...Did Mr. Pinch say anything about them having to be in a fighting condition?"
"What's next is finding this brother, right?"
"Although I am anxious to see my brothers returned to health, Mr. Pinch is nothing but a man of his word, and he will stick to the letter of his contract with you, if you were hired to return us to him, then you will be paid for doing so no matter what condition we are in. But even if he doesn't hire you to get the b@*%&*$ that did this, I will, I'm Kargh by the way, patriarch of this vyadhan."
"We can try to tend to your friendsss...
...Now, you and I will pray at the Alter."
Skalisss kneels down and prays to both Maros and Netari to ease the suffering of these brave warriors.
Kargh nods in agreement and turns to kneel before the alter next to Skalisss and pray.
