Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

[sblock=Andrec]If you can remember the way properly, you reckon you can reach the orphanage in a fifteen minute brisk walk from where you are. Actually, come to think of it, that ramshackle manor house is probably smack in the centre of the Overgrowth district.[/sblock]

"I was afraid of this," Andrec says as he gently scoops the boy up. "Either we split up here, or we take him with us. I'm not fond of either plan. Ideas?"

"Firssst I think we ssshould sssearch thisss area for cluesss" responds Skalisss. "Tracksss or anything left behind. We may get lucky. My vote isss to get the boy back to the Church where he can get aid immediately. I don't want usss to sssplit up, let'sss go together to bring him there."

"In this part of the city, the only kind of tracks they'll have left behind are in the people. Nothing goes on down here that someone doesn't see. The problem will be figuring out who knows what we need - and convincing them to share it with us."

Mikara stays quiet behind her hood. The prospect of questioning someone effectively, while at the same time not revealing her face, left her puzzled.

"You are right" responds Skalisss, "we need to sssplit up to sssave time. Mikara, why don't you come with me to bring thisss child to sssaftey. The ressst of you can talk to the localsss and find sssome answersss. Isss that proposssal sssuitable to everyone?"

OOC: "Saftey" would be the Church where the other victims are receiving aid.

[sblock=Andrec]Don't forget that Lil is still at the orphanage, and you said you would take her to the church this morning.[/sblock]

"No, allow me. I also promised to take the other child to the temple, and the Matron will recognize me. Better that I show up asking for the child than a stranger."

[sblock=OOC]Sorry I haven't been around guys. I've been pretty sick recently. But I will get on my character leveling and be back shortly.[/sblock]

"Very well Andrec." concedes Skalisss, "Be ssswift my friend. Now, let usss see what we can find out. Firssst, look around for anything left behind."

Skalisss starts searching the area for anything that does not belong, something that may have been dropped by the Runemaster's gang.

Perception (1d20+4=23)

A thorough search of the area unfortunately doesn't throw up any useful clues, there are two sets of fresh footprints leading up to the water butts and away again, those going away leaving fainter impressions. But the trail only leads about ten yards from where you found the boy before they disappear abruptly.

---

Andrec (and any of the party that accompany him) makes his way swiftly through the dirt streets, he looses his way only once when he finds himself in a closed courtyard, but after a few minutes he is back on track. Roughly fifteen minutes since the group found the unconscious child, Andrec walks up the overgrown path to the orphanage door.
