Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

OOC: OK, we a little light on the necessary skills, but we can do this. To gather information, find people, or do urban tracking, we use Streetwise checks. Now that the party is back together let's all post some die rolls and see what we find out? Also, we now have specific locations to start our searches from, which helps.

Skalisss tries to ask local shop keepers but none have seen the missing orphans. Streetwise (1d20+4=5)

//A little rail-roading eh? Finding the last 2 orphans is your last step in this scene but you only have a little time left to do it because they are helpless and will die quickly without being found. After that you have a number of leads to follow up on i.e. the other victims. The library is one option as it seems that the first victims to be discovered were there, A little research on various topics while you're there could certainly help out. There was also the historian from cobblestop too, his housekeeper was very out of sorts when she took him to the Chapel.//

[sblock=OOC]Is Nature useful, as it's normally the tracking skill? As much as I appreciate the latitude to figure this one out on our own, I believe we've tried just about everything I can think of. [/sblock]

//perception is the skill i'm looking for here, Skalisss' last roll simply wasn't high enough (he got an 8). you need either a solid roll, or some aid anothers.//

[sblock=OOC]It wasn't really designed as a skill challenge, just a side task. I wasn't expecting you guys to go rushing back to the Overgrowth so soon, so it would have been something to do whilst investigating other leads... That you haven't got yet.[/sblock]

With the group back together, Growl feels less anxious about travelling the back alleys and searching through the unfamiliar city, his pack around him focuses his senses and within minutes he has picked up the scent of two little boys.
The rest of the group follow as quietly as possible as the part metal bear leads them through the streets with his nose to the ground, eventually coming to a halt at a collapsed stable near the edge of the Overgrowth and Cobblestop.

The two boys; twins it seems, have been stuffed under the rotting planks and beams. They are dry, but pale and their breathing is somewhat more laboured than the previous children's. You are not surprised to find angry red brands set on their delicate shoulders.

[sblock=OOC]How old are these boys? I don't know why, but Imagine them being younger than the others[/sblock]
Pulling them out as gently as only a very strong, very shy man can do, Andrec checks them over for injuries, tries gently to wake them, and turns to face the group.
"This is more widespread than the Overgrowth. The strong, the wise, the beautiful, all over the city are being afflicted with these brands. Someone will need to search the scene of each of the early victims' discovery, and we will have to get the Children back to the Obulous. I volunteer to investigate the Library after delivering these two. That leaves the Historian in Cobblestop - we can get his address at the Obulous - the Dancers from the Kingdom of Jade - someone will have to go to the embassy, and three local women, whose addresses can be obtained also at the Obulous. Do you think we should split up, or take them one at a time?"

"Well done Growl" Skalisss comments to the warforged as he peers over Andrec's shoulder. "Time isss of the esssance, I propossse we sssplit up to investigate thessse sitesss. Remember that we are trying to find information, ssso ssstay out of trouble. The Temple of Obulousss can be our meeting place, let usss go there now after searching here for clues."

Skalisss searches throughout the stable for tracks, anything left behind, or something out of the ordinary that might be a clue. Perception (1d20+4=18)

[sblock=Tactics]While it makes a lot of sense to split up IC, mechanically it seems wiser to stick together and take the sites strategically. What do you guys want to do?[/sblock]
